Well, when Cynthia catches up, Thea might decide to stop.

Or alternatively, she might not, because she realizes she's more pissed off than she'd thought.

Well, keeping up is atleast easier than closing the distance. Libby fades away, as is usual.

"Ah, hey! You're still up, are you alright? I thought you'd be asleep by now."

"Apparently not."

Not that she isn't feeling tired, but she just isn't asleep yet.

This whole midnight hour is probably playing havoc on her emotions with its sleep deprivation.

"Well, yeah... Just, uh, checking?"

Awkward walking behind them ensues for a few moments, as Cynthia tries to figure out how to not fail horribly at talking.

"Uhm... I'm sorry? I'm not a criminal or anything..."

Thea rolls her eyes – presumably Cynthia can't see, on account of being behind her – then turns around, stopping suddenly, and confronts her with, "Then why did you break into school to look at my records?"

"Because when we met, when your Shadow was out, I said I'd help you. I always screw up talking, so I thought I'd just... Start by looking there. I don't know how anyone would find out..."

"I dunno either!" she says in response. "But somehow someone did, and then they told me about it and asked me about you! Apparently you've been committing other crimes too?"

"No? Just like... Looking in places. I don't take anything. What am I being charged for?"

"I don't know – why don't you ask the state trooper who pulled me out of lessons today to ask me about you. He's not here right now, but I'm sure he'd be willing to hear from you."

Thea turns around and starts walking again, then mutters, "Maybe you can ask the school where to find him."

Brad just… sorta… watches and follows Thea.

Mutters of "Is that actually a good idea... Probably not."

Cynthia keeps walking after Thea. "Do you want me to just, stop talking to you at all? I only have to talk with you on Full Moons. I'll literally ask for that trooper if you want!"

"Yeah, you go do that," she says, continuing to be dismissive.

Error 404: Sarcasm not gotten. "Sure, tomorrow morning. First thing."

She stops walking and mutters "Well, I'll go sleep to do that... Uh... Bye."

And then Cynthia walks away. How do I even explain this stuff? Always thought I'd be just like... Locked away for good. Sorry, Thea...

Bye, Cynthia. Thea will see you eventually, maybe when she's forgiven you.

Thea spends the rest of the hour walking around – not killing any more blobs – and then walks home and goes to sleep, remembering to dismiss Brad.

Time passes. The Midnight Hour passes, the night passes, and Wednesday morning arrives.

Our camera floats over the entrance to the high school in the morning, but today it's following Cynthia walking in, and then to the Main Office.

She walks straight up to the office aides. "Hi, I heard yesterday some state trooper was asking about me? Can I, like, get his number or something?"

The aide looks briefly confused. "State… trooper?" Then they remember, reach into a drawer to grab some information, and ask, "Are you Cynthia?"

"Yup. Year 12, Cynthia Morra."

The aide reads out the number to reach the department of the trooper, and then directs her on how to get through to him.

Basically, it's to ask for him and tell him she's Cynthia.

Mmmkay. Write it down, walk outside and stand by the door, go through the steps. Give basically the same reasoning when whoever picks up afterward.

Someone picks up the phone! In response to hearing the name 'Cynthia Morra', they put her through to the applicable person.

Our audio gets us half the conversation...

"Yeah, Cynthia, that's me... Just Cynthia. Don't start the 'Ms' thing."

"Heard you were asking for me, yeah. How'd I get in? Secret Midnight Hour... No, I'm not making fun of you. Can I explain?"

"Look- If I can ju-- Let me talk! Ugh... La-la-la. I'll stop when you let me ta--."

"Alright, alright! I'll head over to you and we'll figure out what you want to do, okay? You can't just anger my friends and then- SURE. Okay."

Click. Cynthia walks off, and the screen fades to black...

...Time passes. Cynthia does not show back up for school...

Thea notices Cynthia's conspicuous absence.

She's not really sure where Cynthia disappeared, nor why, but it's not like she can really get much more information very easily, and currently she's still kinda pissed.

The Midnight Hours continue. Brad continues being weird, though he's subdued from how he was previously acting, with less emphasis on the crazy.

They don't attack anything major. It's just a few blobs, and then she goes back to her house, stays up until the end of the hour, dismisses Brad, and then goes to sleep.

This could go on for a while.

That it does go on for awhile. Until a time just after Friday's Midnight Hour. (Technically Saturday morning.)

Ring ring, Thea. Ring ring.

Thea has no idea who would be calling her, let alone just after midnight. She gets up out of bed, squinting – ugh – and fumbles for her phone.

"Hello?" she asks, mumbling a bit.

Lo and behold, Cynthia is.

"Hi, uh, it's me. Cynthia. Don't mean to bother you, but, I kinda need something found out and... Payphones don't really have internet. Well, they might, but not like that... Sorry..."
