This is tricky and requires constant focus and is more of a 'cone of spray' than a real 'sprinkler' effect.

Then she can gradually - widen - the cone - until suddenly it snaps and she has a sprinkler-ish effect.

Kent claps politely. "That's some pretty good flexibility, for being so new." (A bunny has joined the squirrel.)

"Thanks! ...The first thing I did was making it little and weak, the guards at the prison got nervous if I did magic so I wanted something I could hide in the flow of the faucet if I washed my hands."

"I see. Good thinking, even if you probably could have asked for a space and some time to practice magic. It's considered a psychological need for Spirit Bearers."

"There was no way I was doing anything I could help to make them more scared of me."

"Yeah. Makes sense. I'd like to see if your tripwire detects my constructs, what do you think?"

"That sounds like a great idea!" She sets up a tripwire.

The squirrel runs over it wow that was a magic thing she definitely needs to know about it!!

"Whoa. It reacted way more to the construct."

"Than to a Spirit Bearer? Huh. We're both magic. Maybe the construct is closer to monsters or something."

"Maybe. I wouldn't know, maybe we can test more things and find out."

"Different constructs are a good first test." The bunny sits nearby, and a glowy blue monkey monkey and a glowy yellow boar start forming.

"Is there a reason to guess they'd react differently?"

"No, but they're something we can test immediately, and if they do react differently better to realize now than later."

A magic bunny! This is pretty important.

Hey look a magic monkey!

There goes a magic boar.

It's very clear that they're all magic, and they don't have a biology exactly, but the bigger ones don't get nearly the same reaction.

"The bigger ones got less reaction," she observes, confused.

"Aha, perhaps it's reacting more strongly to small things, because they're easier to miss!"

"Maybe! That at least seems easier to test."

"Let's get Ben and Twirls to cross your line." Ben is a big Golden Retriever, and Twirls is a small twitchy mutt of some kind.

"That should probably work."

He arranges for that to happen with a little application of treats. And also convinces one of the ladies who's there as a caretaker to cross the line. It does seem to relate to size, but also the magic! bit is a little more attention getting.

"Size affects it," she confirms, "and separate from that magic things get its attention."

"Neat! Think you can do more with it now? Curve, make it less visible, do two?"
