As long as she stays away from anything that could plausibly house a car, she should probably be fine.  The path is only a little perilous, but she's an esper with good PPE.  She should be able to get to the next location.  It looks like this one isn't directly victim rescue.  It's a transformer that they're pretty sure was damaged in the earthquake.  The hope is once they can access it, they'll be able to bring power back to parts of the neighbourhood.

Of course, they'll have to get access to it, first.  Which in turn means that they'll have to move a bus that lost control during the earthquake and turned turtle.

A bus is pushing her upper limit but if they really need it moved she can do that for them. She'll need a break afterwards though.

Well, they have a lot of hands available, and they don't really need to pick it up and move it.  If she can make it light enough that they can lift it enough to get access, that'd be fantastic.  They've got some chocks and two power-lift pallet jacks, each rated for six hundred pounds.  Can she lighten it enough to make this a viable plan, ideally without knocking her out for the rest of the day?

Hmmm, if they just need to shift it a bit and they have equipment it's workable yeah.

Yeah, if she can make it weigh less than twelve hundred pounds, that'd be fantastic.  If they really have to they can start cutting it up, but the angle grinders only have so much battery life, and, well.  They'd really like to get power back before they start running down the batteries on their tools.

The first six inches will be the hardest.  If she can get it light enough to budge it up by hand and get on the powered jacks, then merely light enough to lift with the jacks, they're good to go.

"Okay.  We're all set up.  Whenever you're ready, boss lady!"

She's going to aim for the minimal amount of power she can get away with here. It won't make it easy but hopefully it will make it possible.

"If it were easy, they wouldn't have sent us!" is the return boast.  There's a good deal of scurrying, three ratchet straps applied and a dozen workers with hi-viz vests lifting.

And then - it looks a bit like a comedy, really - the bus is lifted just high enough to get the pallet jacks underneath.  Once the pallet jacks are set in position and locked in, the hydraulics of the jacks begin tilting the bus closer to its proper orientation.  Then the workers chock it in place, move the jacks back, chock it once more time.

And then the bus is back on its wheels.  It's not ready to run, of course!  It's seriously beat up.  But it's at least vertical and also out of the way.

Well nobody's running vehicles unnecessarily until they deal with the vehicle hijacking dungeon anyway. Meanwhile, teamwork makes the dream work, hooray.

Hooray indeed.  Maybe soon they'll have power again, and they'll be able to charge their phones from a wall instead of an emergency battery pack.  And also maybe they'll have decent internet once more; many people in the city are being bandwidth throttled.

How does she feel helping them dig out some rubble near another apartment?  There's a partially-collapsed wall blocking residents in, and it's really awkward getting the girl with probably-a-broken-leg out with the level of access they currently have.

That sounds like something she's very qualified for.

Great.  It's a quarter mile down the road, it's a little bit of a marginal case but right now prioritization is based on what's easily reachable.  They're trying to save teleporter juice for if they have to figure out how to rescue 500 people from the San Diego Speedway via teleport.

This one is a bunch of little chunks of concrete walling off a section of the apartment.  It's not nearly as bad as the stairwell from earlier, but it seems that part of the issue is that this girl's leg is trapped under rubble and the girl is currently inaccessible, due to rubble.

Well, let's see what the quickest way to solve that problem is then?

Well, the quickest way would be to have Graviton throw everything with her sorta-kinda-not telekinesis.

... but they have shovels and hands and if this debris weighed the same as a rolled-up newspaper, that would make their job a lot easier.  And faster.

Yeah if she throws things around, especially a bunch of loose debris like this she can't really guarantee exactly where it'll land when it's done being flung around. Which is sometimes fine in a dungeon but isn't a great idea if you care about doing (further) damage to the surroundings.

Making shovelfulls of debris light it is.

Nah, this place is a mess  They don't care if it gets messier.  They can make it pretty after it's dug out and the woman with the bad leg has gotten out. 

... it turns out that shoveling light clumps of random crap and the occasional medium clump of concrete isn't actually hard at all.  There's a pretty serious debate to be had about whether it'd actually slow them down to have an excavator, at this point.

(The eventual consensus is that if you count the Safety Bullshit involved in setting up an excavator, Graviton beats it by a mile.  Otherwise it's a tossup.)

Well presumably the higher ups would prefer the excavator for cost reasons but that's not their problem. Also she's happy to help, this is sort of relaxing compared to dungeons.

"Hey, uh.  Graviton?  Can you c'mere for a minute, I think we gotta problem."  It seems that the Leg Lady doesn't so much have a broken leg as a trapped one.

"Sure."

What have we got here.

It looks like there's a reasonable-sized chunk of I-beam.  It's landed above the knee, and it's not going anywhere unless Graviton or an angle grinder are able to intervene.  And an angle grinder would have implications for the leg this I-beam is sitting underneath.

She's backlashed enough by now to be distanced from the usual flinch reaction to injuries like that, but she can still do compassion perfectly well even a lot more backlash than this. 

Lifting the bar shouldn't be too hard, the tricky part is balancing speed (and backlash on her part) and not causing further damage to the leg.

Yeah.  It's not looking great for the leg, but this is urban California and San Diego has a fair number of hospitals.

Ratchet straps on either side of the beam, do a four-person lift while she's got it lightened, and two more people haul the woman out from under the beam?

That oughta work. She'll let them get that set up and then do a count of three.

She'll offer a reassuring smile for the lady, "Just hang tight a little longer."

The lady is looking pretty good for someone with an I-beam pinning one leg directly and her other leg more incidentally.  She's resolutely Not Looking Down, with the practiced skill of someone who has been resolutely been Not Looking Down for the past two hours of her life.

Three...two...one...LIFT!  A pair of medics wince as they see the definite break.  One of them assures her that they've seen worse walk off after surgery and PT.  It's not long before they have her safely excavated and the I-beam set back where it came from.  Plus or minus three inches.

That's worse than most injuries she's seen, though less gnarly then some. She's going to have to do some processing later when her brain is fully online, but that is (actually for real) a problem for Later Her. Right now, she has work to do.

Well, she's not visible for long, because she's rushed(read: carefully carried over the rubble) to a better location.  Once she's no longer in the building, the EMTs confer for a few moments, then set her down and stand back.  With an eye-searing vworp, the woman and stretcher both vanish.

The next one is about three streets over, if Graviton's still green to go.
