"I think that one was at least half my fault," she sighs. "Take care."

"I will. The same to you."

Off he goes.

Maybe she shouldn't have done that. Or maybe it was important enough to give her condolences.

Doesn't really matter. She can't exactly take it back.

They keep flying.

Bea settles in. When they're in port, she has appointments; when they're in the sky, she alternates between holing up in her shuttle and socializing with the crew. She continues Tina's lessons, including brushing up on resonant theory enough to start her on the dulcimer.

She goes to find Sargon.

Sargon's pretty findable. He hangs out in the ship's public areas a fair amount.

He smiles when he sees her. "Hey."

"Hey.

Anwar thinks you want to learn the things I'm teaching Tina, and haven't noticed it, or at least hadn't as of the first time I made tea for everyone when he noticed."

...he blinks, caught off-guard. "Um..."

"So this is me offering. No hurry on answering if you'd rather introspect some first."

He laughs.

"Nah, if Anwar says I want that, I believe him."

It's a talent that Cardea brought out in him, but Cardea could do it for almost anybody and Anwar can only do it for people he personally knows very very well. The fact that he's started doing it again is a good sign.

"And if you're offering then yeah, I'd like to learn."

"Oh, good!" Teaching is fun.  "Tina generally just shows up and if I'm not busy we have a lesson, we could do it like that or with a schedule."

"That sounds like a reasonable way to do things!"

"I'm glad to hear it."

He grins at her.

"You busy now?"

"No."

"Want to teach me something?"

"Sure. Do you have a preference what?"

He shrugs. "No idea."

"Tea uses less space and fewer implements than food, and a musical instrument has more limited use, so we can start there."

"Sounds like a plan."

Tea! She starts off with roughly the same overview she initially gave Tina.

Sargon is fascinated! He isn't an excitable genius like Tina, but he's definitely paying attention.

Good. Teaching him is a whole different kind of fun from teaching Tina, but not necessarily a lesser one.

And Sargon is having fun too.

How bad an idea would kissing him be? Let her count the ways.
