And speaking of the sights...

Either the River Gold and Alaudala took the boring way in, or Durin's taking the scenic route out - the River Gold left them with a few showily glowing bottles of water on the lakeside, so it's easy enough to see the yawning caverns and glittering sections of crystal - the subtle differences in stone formations that Durin points out - the rare glint of metal - and Durin sings as she walks when she isn't geeking out about this or that rock, a deep rumble that echoes beautifully in the caves. 

Whoa.

Is it bad that she's more entranced by Durin's explanations than the actual rocks, probably not yeah.

Not at all. She does love explaining things. 

She's good at it!!

She hasn't lost her touch then. 

Hmmmm Alaudala's pretty sure she can verify exactly where Durin's touch is at...
