"Or a belt, for greater available surface area."

"A bracer would be an interesting question, too - two distinct circles with a continuous cylinder bridging them, perhaps - " She traces out patterns on Celebrimbor's skin as she muses.

"Lots of room to play with metaphor and meaning, there."

"And three naturally distinct surfaces to play with, and the bracer would be easier to subdivide than a ring..."

"Possibilities abound."

Very fun.

Quite.

Though they will have to get up in order to properly explore them...

A minor tragedy.

But they can always do this again...

True. It's not a time-limited opportunity.

Could be a frequent occurrence, even.

She'll have to make appropriate adjustments to her schedule.

Or Domhildr can just lure her out and into cuddles when she's gotten too distracted by work and needs a reminder of Fun Stuff and Spontaneity.

That would be appropriate..

And fun, can't forget that.

And fun, as Domhildr reminds her.

Apparently what she's here for.

Most helpful indeed.

Kiss!!!

Then: up to experiment?

To the workshop!

And crafting.

Elsewhere, Alaudala's been having a grand old time paddling down the river. Once she tried getting paddled by the river and that was fun too. She's seen lots of neat stuff, like rare flowers and waterfalls and an entire town full of Big People. That was okay for a visit but she doesn't think she'd want to live there. Seems worse than her own village about Rules and Obligations and stuff. Plus they all wore these shoes all the time. Like little cages for their feet, it was bizarre. Definitely not for her. And they kept mistaking her for a little girl, which, rude. She's twenty-eight, okay!! Not a child, no matter what Mother says!!!

Anyway.

That was a little while ago, so she's about ready for the next interesting thing to happen. Maybe that cave? That cave looks interesting.

That cave overlooks the Anduin River, a river sometimes so wide Alaudala struggles to see the other side from one bank, with a slow meandering current. The waters are muddier than the River Gold's, and there's apparently some complex negotiations with the River Gold accompanying her (she was able to help with that, though whatever spirit of the Anduin refused to take a hobbitish form and remained as water, which made for an interesting process). There's numerous farms and small villages along its stretch, and rumors of elves and dwarves living nearby, and a wide grassy floodplain that rolls to the feet of the Misty Mountains.

That cave is in the Misty Mountains, high on the western bank of the Anduin where forests start to scraggle back in. A glittering waterfall tumbles cheerfully from its mouth, providing enough of a stream for the River Gold to accompany her up.

Exciting!!

"I wonder how deep it goes?"

"Probably loops back to the surface at some point, and the river can't originate from much deeper than the cave unless there's an aquifer... But lots of caves here connect to each other."

"So it could be pretty long still?"
