"A certain measure of appreciation, at least."

"I might need to protect my heart a bit more, then. Stay aloof, away from the potential for unrequited feelings..." She's probably teasing.

"Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Perhaps you just need to try a little harder."

"Earn your full affections?"

"They are as of yet unclaimed."

" - I'd have thought Domhildr would be more in the running..."

"I think you and I have spent more time together since your arrival."

" - I wonder why. Domhildr seems taken with you."

"The visits have never been long. Domhildr always returns to the dwarves' mountain home."

"I don't know as much as I'd like about dwarves," she says, which is unfortunately true. They were her enemies in the First Age and before, but she had trouble penetrating their strongholds, and they were a minority in terms of military problems.

"It's rare for any of them to leave the shelter of their mountain halls at all, and it doesn't seem just cultural. I can talk to her, though. Find out if something is wrong."
