"Sensing benefits from carefulness, just you know differently. Accurate and thorough sensor reports are really helpful."

"I haven't really been doing dungeons that benefit from sensors, uh.  The crab one excluded."  He gives a full-body shudder and runs his tongue through his mouth, searching for the crab chunks that his lizard brain expects to find there.  "And I had Sara for that one."

"I think a lot of dungeons can benefit from sensors, it's just that sensors are uncommon enough that you can't afford to bring them everywhere all the time so you've got to reserve their time for the really tricky cases." She raises an eyebrow "Crab dungeon? From your reaction that was more memorable than it sounds? Uh, it's fine if you'd rather not talk about it."

"No, uh.  It's fine.  Basically, imagine you're getting chased by millions of little crabs.  Crabs as far as the eye can see.  Maybe billions, I don't know. We had to sweep the dungeon for the core, in cased it was buried.  But of course instead of being buried, it was inside this huge fuckin' crab.  Bigger than a tank.  So we had to fight a crab the size of a house to the death, while trying to keep the little bastards out of our mouths and ears and inside our clothing.  And anytime we make progress, the boss crab just fuckin' zooms off, and heals up.  The first time, it had grabbed Sara in her pincers, and I knew she'd be fine, I could feel it?  But then it started running off with her into the sea of little crabs.  I thought I was going to lose my partner on our first mission together."

"That does sound...uh...memorable yeah..."

"Well, it gets better, right?"  Because of all the post-tournament debriefs he's done, Tim's nervousness seems to fade away when he's telling a story.  "We go two rounds with it, we break its legs a couple of times, and it seems to regrow them.  But the third time, we're making progress.  It's down a couple of legs, I'm going to break one of them off.  The leg cracks off...and it points the stump at me.  And this is the moment the Confluence hit, because it suddenly gains the ability to bleed those little crabs.  It's a garden hose pointed at me, but it's crabs coming out instead.  Meanwhile, Sara's trying to use her geokinesis to hold it in place, so the crabs are crawling all over her.  And then, I can't even make this up, it starts raining.  Raining crabs."

..Well now she's giggling.  "That dungeon really committed to the bit. Shit sorry." She attempts to get her giggle fit under control.

"It really did, though!  I'm not gonna be mad you laughed, it sounds so silly?"  He pats her hand, that's a thing people do for reassurance, right?  "So there I am, on top of the crab, trying to break the shell open to get to the core, it's about to break free.  Sara's trying to hold it back, and I see its little crab legs broken loose from the hold.  And then Sara makes little holes underneath its legs.  It drops about ten feet to the ground, on top of one of her rock spikes, and she holds it down while I finish cracking it open.  I get the core out, she smashes it, and we take the portal out.  It was so satisfying watching her smash it."

"Yeah. I bet it was. I'm glad I wasn't in a dungeon when the confluence hit. My power is good if I have to book it but...I'm glad you two got out all right."

"Yeah.  It mostly wasn't all that dangerous, really.  It was just miserable.  And the confluence boost wasn't great."  He shrugs a little.  "But hey, Sara enjoyed her crab's legs afterwards.  So all's well that ends well!"  He attempts to stifle another yawn against April's back.  "'scuse me."

"Eating dungeon crab has got to be such a biohazard."

This time, he only shudders a little.  "I mean, it didn't kill me when the little bastards crawled in my mouth and, uh.  I killed them."  By biting them.  "But I meant for takeout.  She wanted revenge."

"Sometimes dungeons have edible food. But you usually only find out for sure it's safe after it's already dead. Also, takeout crab legs is superior to raw crab in all ways."

"I would love to have your power for parkour tricks!" she says to Aumento. "Maybe I could even teach you some. I'm pretty sure my power would let me avoid damaging anything. Have I explained my power yet?"

"No'm, you've been a little under the weather.  I think your ribs are pretty close to done.  How does it work?"

Yeah, she's feeling much better. No need to control her breathing.

"Improved dexterity and short-term movement precognition. Basically, if I want myself or something to move a certain way, I can exactly know how to push or pull on it to have it do so. Though I can't do anything that I can't do, and it doesn't give me any strength or durability.

I've become much more efficient in using it over the years because I can get muscle memory from using it for something a lot. So nowadays I use it less for 'tell me what to do' and more 'guarantee it goes where I want it'. I use it for dancing, gymnastics, acrobatics, juggling, tightrope walking, parkour, chopping vegetables..."

"That's so cool!!!  That would have been so much easier to live with than what I've got.  I mean, I'm happy with my power, and I'm pretty sure you are, too?  But that's a really nice one."  Hope her backlash doesn't suck.  "I bet you can get your superstrength cert a quarter of the time, most of it's just learning how to not break everything you bump into."

"Yeah, that's a really fun power. You must know soooo many cool tricks."

"Well, I mean, there's a big appeal in being able to shoot lightning or fire out of my hands, or fly. I can't do anything that a human can't already do. I'm just...very skilled. So I'm not as useful in dungeons as other espers could be. But I like how versatile my power is.

I'd imagine I'd use my power in the beginning to avoid breaking anything, then lessen its usage once I got the hang of it. I could have used it to use my phone safely while in the circle but, rules are rules. Don't want to have you explain why I get to use it but others don't."

Then, to Kuroko, "I'd show you a video, but...Actually, do you have...balls, bottles, something easily thrown?"

"Just a couple of those cheap plastic water bottles for giving out to dungeon victims. And I can't exactly reach my bag right now."

"Sean, d'you think you could grab some water bottles, before M-Kuroko decides she's forced to leave us?"

"No problem." Hup.

"Water bottles work. Thank you."

She takes three from Sean and starts juggling, still lying down. First she uses her hands, then she throws them to her feet, which kick up to throw them to her other hand. Then, she balances the three bottles — two at her left foot, one at her right — then kicks up so the two go to her right hand and the one goes to her left.

"Wow, the superstrength makes it feel really different. I'm exerting so little effort to throw them. Anyway, don't want to rack up too much backlash on this." Simple tricks with light objects only take a miniscule amount, but this is a confluence, so. She puts down the water bottles, and by 'put down' she means throwing them to have them land perfectly upright on the floor.

"That is very cool."

"That's so cool! Though, I mean, you know you can rack up as much as I can get down," he adds with a wink.
