They only make out a little bit, and Tim learns that he doesn't actually prefer full beards. Looking at them: fine. Petting them: fine. Getting them near his nose? Not so fine.
He has a pretty strong sneeze reflex, it turns out. And when he's laying underneath someone and sneezes, his head jerks backwards. Into the pillow. Through the pillow. Into the rug-over-concrete floor of the healing silo.
His head is fine! His brain is fine! The rug is fine! The pillow is basically fine!
But based on the grindy noises from below the rug, the concrete underneath the rug is not fine.
