Getting back into the dress is surprisingly simple, physically, and somewhat unsurprisingly awkward - Amber's grace is something hard to emulate, and the starkness of the world outside is... jarring, sometimes.

It's a lovely outfit though, and more than worthy to be the thing to wear for the day.

From there, I take sometime to research the actual mythos empowerment ritual - unfortunately, the research corpus is quite scant on meaningful specifics on the details - it seems most important that the ritual happen, intact, and that it's a meaningful story shared in return, with the details of the rest being... chaotic, more or less - there's some indication that having more active semantophysics is helpful, some theoretical sketches of ways to use a couple of different powers to possibly improve the results, if it can be reasonably extrapolated out from these dozen other related systems, even a handful of tricks for ways to bolster the mythical strength of the ones leading the ceremonies, such that they'll have a greater skill and power for the purposes of the act...

But still nothing that I could expect any of the recruitable staff to be up for, on this short a notice. Amaya'd probably be my best bet, if I had another few months and wasn't losing out on anything by waiting, but I very much am. I'll take the time to see if we can get the logs and see if she has her own methods for interacting with this sort of thing in case it'll be helpful for her to have something so connected, but mostly...

I take a deep breath.

- I should write.

I compose a poem - it's... in some ways short and awkward, but it's a tale of it's own, I feel, and the lilt and meter feel right and proper, for this, and there's something cute about the symmetry, of the empowerment to come and the more figurative things that I've gone through, already.

I hope it'll be right, when the time comes, and that I won't need a teleprompter, or something crude like that.

I recite the words over in my head perhaps a half-a-dozen times, and -

About time.

I snort a little bemusedly.

Sure, sure, let's do this.

I send back a quick ack, and trigger unlock at the door.

In a moment, the door is open and Lumen is before her, hand offered out to shake.

"Pleasure to meet you."

"And you as well."

I shake their hand.

...I unleash a flurry of blinks from headspace.

"Ah yes I'm quite aware that the speed can be awkward but I've found the alternatives often more so."

They shake firmly.

There hand is... notionally there, obviously there, the rough motes of light and some illusory boundary forming the shape of their body makes it obviously, but something about the feeling of the 'skin' is quite unnatural - like something I was already feeling had become suddenly solid beneath my grasp.

"How so?"

They shift into a series of oddly organized streams of descending outlining light.

"It's about subconscious expectation management - especially outside of an onto-engineered environment there's certain proclivities of the sapient mind that make people interpret things overly familiarly. The exact construction of my nature is still a matter of debate amongst my creators and scholars in adjacent subjects, but I am not a conventional being of meat or indeed matter. My skin is nothing more then a bound of spiritual pressure native to certain arcane existences, amongst those of my world - an amplification of one's existence and surety of their place above other things. It is not an energy construct, nor some contrivance of physical materials, and my limitations are not especially akin to that of other things that they have experienced, and simple, in-context instances of jarring things from the start, are best."

There's no lips or voicebox, but it's fairly clear that the shifting beams are outlining something somewhat different, with each word, and the stream of light is outlining something in flashing frames that'd be normally readable enough.

"I expect that's somewhat sensible, though I'm unsure that is too accurate. It can be somewhat difficult to speak to firmly to mediated experiences, of course, but you appear to be resonably humanoid, in your intonations and form, and the little specifications I was able to read about your creation seemed to imply that there were certain standardization pressures applied."

"True enough! The esoteric details are in the parameters of my abilities relating to my 'body', rather than nesscarily the interactions that formed my soul. While it is still something reasonably novel, there's no reason to expect that I did not get much the same analogization experience that most spirits did - seemingly to a spirit of cognition, rather then of some fundamental force or bonded-higher-nature-expression. My most native mode of communication is essentially digital, though coercing that into verbal expressions came naturally as a form of... 'interface', I suppose - something in the nature of the perception of a being of light, I would expect."

"So... a hologram, then?"

They futz as a way of shrugging.

"Perhaps? The people who made me were familiar with the concept - they're considered oft times gauche, but they are reasonably popular. It might have something to do with the fundamental purpose of the optical systems involved - fundamentally it's intended to carry-sapient meaningful data such that it comes out expressed correctly at the other end, and the details of the abstraction-layers required for such a task to be preformed optimally likely wouldn't make it into the metaphysical enviroment of even a long time research laboratory."

"Oh and yes! You discussed illusions? I'm somewhat unsure where to start, beyond stating unambiguously that I'm not one, persay."

"We did."

And I think I'm fading back, unforunately.

"We were curious as to the details of our mindscape and such? The research materials here shows that the light tends to have a fairly specific, concentrated effect on such thing,s nad that it might be of interest to you to see ours, and get a chance to look more physically for ourselves..."

"Oh."

"I suppose that the standard disclaimers aren't too relevant in this case?"

"Yes, yes, I know it's subjective, I know it can be personal, I know that there's no one true thing. I just..."

I breathe out.

"Want to see it, and have it seen."

"Alright."

They slow, for the first time, and reach out a hand to brush back her hair.

I lean in a little, softly pressing into their almost-cool hand.

"You're rather solid, for an uninitiated soul."

They pause there for a moment, brushing back her bangs.

"- You can tell me if this is too fast? I don't want to rush you, but the most native modes of my communication even like this are optimized in a certain direction that makes such an experience another default of mine."

My eyes close as I think for a few seconds.

"It's fine, at times? But it's not something that we've bbeen able to grow accustomed to ourselves yet, regardless of how theoretically native it is to our mind design. Please do take the opportunity to take your time when it comes up, at least?"
