The army won't be moving immediately, so the Dregs have plenty of time to explore the city and its people - but the inhabitants of the Little Palace are pretty quickly drawn into preparations. They're not told the appointed day ahead of time, merely that they'll be summoned when they're needed (though Inej can get them more warning than that).

 

And - no more than two weeks after the Dregs' first meeting with the Darkling - the Second Army departs for the Fold.
