"Who do you think wants to talk to us this time?"

"Not sure. Could be Miss Oretsev has tracked down her Colonel."

"We might be in for a fun time, then."

"Shall we go see?"

"I vote yes."

"Sure. Let's."

Then off to the Grisha army's residence.

They need to present their summons to the gate guards, but they're let into a secure waiting room after that. 

And a short time later, their host arrives.

"Hello."

"Good morning." (She hasn't made any attempt to disguise her voice, either now or the first time she spoke to Svetka.)

"My name is Svetlana Starkov. I'm the Sun Summoner. It's good to meet you properly."

"I'm Inej Ghafa - called the Wraith sometimes, too. It's good to meet you."

"Kaz Brekker."

"Jesper Fahley, and any pleasure is all mine."

Giggle. "Oh yes, Val told me about you."

"How were her reviews?"

"Glowingly positive."

"Another happy customer."

Smile.

"I wanted to thank you- all of you- for coming to speak with the General."

"It seemed like the best path for us."

"With me being what I am, and Grisha in general, it's rare that people see things that way."

"Fear and disdain are a toxic mixture," she says after a long moment. 

"Sadly so."

"Sucks you have to deal with it." Awkward shrug. 

"I'm not alone, at least."
