It got easier for me when I had an agent I knew I could trust.  Nowadays I just give him a budget and a spec and tell him to make sure I'm not doing anything stupid with my spec.

You're already pretty good at the TK, I can't wait to see what you're gonna look like with some training.  You have a local partner, right?  I think I saw him but I don't think I got to meet him before we got a room.

Maybe you'd like a bit of durability.  You could get an upgrade to a regular cannon, if you knew a combat esper who's always in need of more partners and can make you tougher.

I mean if you want, I'm not trying to steal you away from your friends and your home.  Sara's pretty close to me, too.

Yeah, especially if you have a specialist power.  Not like me, but Sara has got to be amazing in some dungeons.  She probably gets offers to go all over, right?  But I'm just pretty okay in any dungeon.  Any dungeon you can solve with violence, at least.

Totally fair, I'm a professional cuddler half the time anyway, I don't do dungeons full-time right now.  But if you ever do get hurt, I want you to let me know, okay?  You can get paid to get comprehensive healing!  All you'd have to do is let me rest my legs on you for eight hours a day 'till you're not hurt anymore.

So, my power includes some regen.  But it’s not really good at fast healing unless the injury was recent, so if I’m using it I need to be using it all day, and that means constant cuddling.

So I need a lot of partners, because cuddling me all day sounds easy until you need to be chained to me for eight plus hours a day.

If you get hurt, you can just cuddle me and knock months off your recovery time.  And my power might be slow, but it does things right, no stupid aches from a broken arm.  So.  If you get hurt, you can literally paid to enable my healing and play video games or whatever.

Yeah, I help a lot of people who'd just get fucked up by surgery.  Usually we just wear shorts and tangle up our legs, but I'll get a couch made for you if you want one, it's definitely a business expense.  We've also got a few gaming consoles, IDK if you're much of a gamer.

I like them!  It's good for when I'm too tired to do something physical but I still want to DO something, you know?  I've got some fun co-op games, if you wanna try them I'd love to play with you.  We can even figure out how to stream it to a tablet below the couch if you want.

I'm looking forward to our low-commitment casual guiding session to evaluate accommodations and feasibility, then!  XD

Tim has a request, which Bill takes as marching orders.  He needs a one Wendy Kensin to get an Ablinger marble from Chicago to Montpelier.  They can arrange a ride for after his normal healing rotation.

Tim can go extra hard with his usual pro, and leave some backlash for Wendy to guide off during power testing at a silo-cum-gun-range.  It’s not the first time Tim has rented out this range for use as a silo.

And of course, the fool kid wants to meet Wendy himself at the Ablinger teleport zone.  While backlashed half asleep.  Bill is in the business of giving his clients what they want, and his read on Tim is that he really wants this to happen.  So.  One teleport, and one taxi.

And he wants to make sure Wendy gets a first-time guiding bonus.  Sure.  It’s coming out of your cut, Tim.

Which explains why there’s a tall and tired young man leaning against a wall near the Ablinger point.  He’s sipping a coffee and savoring every moment of the caffeinated bliss.  Ahhhh.  Coffee.  She should be here soon enough.  I think it should be just another minute?

She seems disoriented and a little embarrassed. Dressed in heavy jeans and a comfy loose tee-shirt and her Raincoat She Takes Everywhere.

"Wendy!"  The young man smiles at her, his eyes crinkling at the corners.  "I was a little worried you'd run into some trouble getting here.  How was the trip?"  He's dressed in what appear to be nice black slacks and a grey polo shirt, with a navy blue jacket loosely worn over the shirt.

"I've never been teleported before. Feels a bit too rich for my blood, honestly?"

She will approach and hold out her hand for a fistbump, just because it feels right somehow.

"Tell me about it.  Every so often I'm so confused about how I got here, you know?  I'm just some kid, but here I am, somehow."

Bump, and he'll reflexively offer a hand-slap afterwards.  The amount of backlash he's under makes him feel even guidier than before.

Handholding is fine, guiding is a nice feeling!

Well, he had intended to reflexively performed the fist-bump-slap that's the prelude to a friendly spar.  But sure, he'll take a handhold - the guiding compatibility isn't amazing from his perspective, not as good as Sara.  But it's quite enough to perk him up a little bit.  "Well, you wanted to do some powers testing, right?  There's a gun range I rent out occasionally, so we'll be the only ones in it, in case of accident.  Although I do have a few paramedics on standby outside.  In case of, you know, accident."  Not that we really need them as long as I'm alive and conscious, but.  After the second accident, I figured I shouldn't play around with safety.
