Chapter 12:

AN: Look in real life she punches the hurricanes and they dissipate, so the punch kills them. Which means that if they're sentient, they reincarnate at that point. And because time and death are both illusions, it makes sense for Kai Treem to have been the reincarnated hurricane Katrina the whole time, though obviously she wouldn't remember it clearly before it happened! I thought the sequence in chapter 7 was enough to spell this out, but apparently lots of commenters are still confused and I was a little too highbrow and metaphorical with it all. So!

(advice to Future ambitious authors - it's important to give readers information that isn't from the POV of a sentient storm entirely reliant on air pressure and temperature as their sensory modality. even if you do a really good job of it)

Chapter 13: KAI WEARS AN EYE PATCH BECAUSE HURRICANES ONLY HAVE THE ONE EYE. BTW. IF YOU HADN'T PICKED UP ON THAT. WELL. NOW YOU KNOW.

Chapter 15: look of course the kiss had to be a fakeout (we're less than 50k words in do I look like a chump to you? motherfucker when I say slow burn I mean slooooow burn)

Chapter 16 (above): This is an omake chapter. If you've never seen one of those before, all that means is that nothing that occurs in this chapter is canon. Also, characters might not react to things as they would in canon. We are just having fun here. :)

sorrynotsorry for bringing back the storm pov midway through the scene. is for my artistic vision. you understand. Hot tip for writers who can't write realistic dirty talk: simply have a POV that does not include dialogue because the default sensory system of a sentient storm would only perceive sound as a pattern of wind! it's that easy!

Chapter 17: Look, y'all, I don't know what to tell you. It was an omake! I literally said at the top we were just having fun...

I guess the takeaway here is that shipping Skybreaker and Kai Treem, the time-travelling human reincarnation of Hurricane Katrina (2005), is serious business. Back to your regularly-scheduled lesbian slowburn.

Chapter 22: There! They finally kissed!! (You guys have NO idea how tempted I was to bring back the stormPOV for that scene. It would have been beautiful.) AHEM. Kudos give me life and commenters I am kissing you on the mouth.
