She drills as deep as she can - sees how fast he'll collapse.

That happens quicker mentally than physically.

She steps up the pace physically after he runs out of answers for her, until she's driven him into the ground.

It takes some work, but it's doable.

Not much is beyond her.

"You did well," she says over his panting body, "But your education has serious gaps."

"As you, say, master."

She summons a fortified drink over and sits beside him, offering it.

He sits up enough to drink it.

"Getting you out of bad habits shouldn't be hard, at least."

"Doesn't seem like he has very many of them," Salacis diagnoses. She's been watching the fight with a professional eye.

"None with how he moves," she confirms. "Though some with how he uses the Force - still, far fewer than I'd expect from Plagueis's tutelage." She turns to him. "You've done better than your teacher."

"Isn't that supposed to be you, now?"

"Yes," she says. "But the teacher you had matters to your past, and to what foundation we start with."

"All right."

Smile.

"I'll start you with context," she says. "For the missions you'll run, for the forms you're learning, for everything going on here."

"Things don't always go according to plan, for one. You'll need to know how to adjust on the fly. And, you'll need to have enough context to spot when something doesn't make sense."

"And as you grow older - I want you to be able to operate more independently."

"You mean like, setting my own missions?"

"Yes."

Huh.

That... might be fun.

Knowing smirk. "And perhaps your own goals, someday - but it'll be good for you to be able to work independently towards our shared goals."

"What are those?"

Hum. "I can tell you what mine are, and you can tell me what you share - but we both want you to grow into your full potential."

He nods. That sounds like a good place to start. And better than what Plagueis offered.

"It'll take time for you to figure out your own goals," she says, quietly. "It always does."
