"I should get dressed before leaving, mistress," she murmurs.

"It'd help with blending in," she says, and kisses her slave. "And you should leave soon, too." 

"May I take a knife, mistress?"

"Take whatever weapons you see fit."

"I don't think I'll need others. But knives are useful."

"Exceptionally so."

Kiss! "You may use the best knives in my armory, slave."

"Thank you, mistress. Will you show me the way?"

"I will."

She leads Berenike over. Her armory is exceptionally well stocked, and she shows Berenike to a secondary armory as well - one for her own use, not that of her guards. It contains a large number of trophies from her campaigns, especially foreign weapons and armor. 

"This is a very nice collection," she says appreciatively.

"I enjoy owning beautiful, dangerous things."

She settles on a flat blade about as long as her hand, with an easily-concealable sheath at her hip.

She checks the way it fits in Berenike's hand, that the sheath is well settled, that the knife is functional still - and declares that Berenike has a good understanding of weapons.

"I'll provide you with a scribal kit and some subtle clothes, too."

"That'll help.

She nods. "It's better if you're unseen - but there's a lot of places you can get away with being caught if you're wearing a servant's uniform."

Nodnod.

She has information on who Berenike might encounter, too - and what a servant might be expected to know. 

Useful to keep her cover intact.

Her collar will stay on?

"It risks leading back to me if you're caught - it's distinctive - but... I'm worried about its effects being reversed if it's removed. I want to study it more before we risk that."

She nods fervently. "That's a good reason for caution."

"I hope it comes to nothing, but..."

Hug.

"Yeah."

Tight hug. "You're mine. And I'll strengthen whatever tie holds you here by my side, until not even the gods could break it."
