A wave of her hand over Svetka's hair - 

It's no longer frayed. The strands are whole, and her hair color's deeper, richer, with a faint sheen in the light. It flows better as she moves, now, and the curls are more pronunced. 

"There we go," Genya says, smugly.

Svetka reaches up to touch it. "Wow."

"I am very talented at what I do."

"Yeah. I don't think my hair's looked like this in- ever."

"A chance for perfection is part of the Little Palace's charm."

"You should put that on the recruitment pamphlets."

"We don't do much direct recruitment, sadly."

"Guess not..."

"It's an incentive to stay, though."

"Yeah. There's enough of those around that I'm not thinking about leaving. Though meeting the King might change that."

"I hope it doesn't."

"The outfit's not a promising start."

"Your meeting should be brief, at least, and the General will be able to keep you by her side more after."

Nod.

"Puts a limit on how terrible things can get, I guess."

"One way to look at it."

"What would the other ways be?"

"Some would say the General is the more dangerous, of the two."

"...I did see her cut a man in half with a blade of darkness. But he was about to murder me with an axe, so I think I'll stick with her anyway."

"She protects what's hers. And we are her Grisha."

"I think I've heard her say that before..."

"It's a sentiment you'll likely hear again."

"Yeah."

"She's going to be impressed with how you're doing with this, too..." she comments as she starts braiding Svetka's hair. "You clean up very well."

She smiles at her reflection in the mirror. "Seems so. But I think you get most of the credit for that."

Grin.

"I can only make a face pretty. My magic doesn't work on the person under it." She arranges Svetka's hair a little more. "Sadly enough."
