This was an excellent plan. Everyone has to show up for Shop, and there is a very limited set of classes.

However, all eight of them have now passed, and there was no maleficer found.

Oria Duccini and Niccolo Calloconti had both shown up to Friday Shop. So now they're both looking for New York and Shanghai.

Lan Xichen is sitting in the Shanghai reading room studying with Meng Yao's head on his shoulder.

"Well, on the bright side, we're pretty sure no one new is dead," Annaka says. "- well, there was a sophomore poisoning but we're pretty sure it's unrelated.

That is the only bright side."

Oria nods before replying. "So, at the risk of the goslings leading the geese, we clearly have a leak, right? Our killer is smart enough to stay hidden, and hidden enough to stay well-informed. Between you, Shanghai, us, whoever else was consulted, or just some chatty freshmen, something's loose."

"My best guess is that word got out we were monitoring shop classes after the first couple of them. I'm tempted to do it again next week just on the principle that if the kid can't go to shop they'll die soon enough but it's probably not the best expenditure of effort."

"Here's my proposal: You come up with some new strategy. So do we, so do Shanghai, so do London and Kyoto and - Jaipur, probably. But none of us tell each other what we're doing. At most we get all our seniors in a room together - well, probably not us and Jaipur - so that we're all sure we recognize each other in case of conflicts. Six tries, even if we don't keep the secrets well at least two or three should work."

"- yeah, all right, we're in."

Oria's not as exhausted as Annaka looks, but she still doesn't muster a proper smile. Niccolo gives her shoulder a squeeze in a way that is probably meant as a subtle 'nice job'.

"Okay. Well, if you want to do the 'get in a room' thing, you know where our reading room is. I think we'll go do some brainstorming. And... good luck."
