It's the weekend and that means it's time for extracurriculars!
As a freshly inducted member of Suicide Club, Mei's first assignment is intended to be more about learning the ins and outs of the Scholomance and less about feats of daring just yet.
Her team is given a maintenance hatch and told that there is a small colony of parchment wasps setting up behind a wall panel in the sophomore bathrooms. Their assignment is to collect the wasp hive (and any dead wasps).
"Okay... so... Lan Wangji can place and open the maintenance hatch, and me and Wei Wuxian will stand at the ready shields up holding spray bottles full of soapy water? This is our plan of attack?"
"And the nest! We need the nest. I think someone needs it for some project they're working on?"
"I want some of the dead mals so I can see if I can figure out how to turn them into zombies."
Rin has up to this point been watching quietly; her job isn't telling them the answers, it's pushing them away from solutions that are too dangerous to be worth the supply run and the experience.
"If you turn them into zombie mals Hitomi-san will ban us all from doing this for the rest of ever."
"It's art. Cannot believe everyone has so little appreciation for art."
Right. This was the creepy guy with the corpse affinity.
"I think the upperclassmen wanted the nest and the wasps."
"That's also true! But even if it weren't, I do have to put my foot down, no zombie mals. And probably no messing with mal corpses outside the lab at all, at least until you're sophomores."
"So when do we want to do the run? Sooner means probably fewer wasps, later means we have more time to prepare anything we need."
Lan Wanji was pretty confident about the soap and water thing and Rin-senpai isn't contradicting it, so they might actually be able to be ready pretty fast.
