an asmodean cleric gets mirrorsnaked into Thomassia

The local nobility just so happens to be incompetent enough that they can't tell the difference between a band of Baphomet worshippers undercover in the local bureucracy, and a huge sized snake monster with a mirror for a mouth.

It's quite absurd, when you put it that way. Perhaps there were Baphomet worshippers and they summoned the snake. Perhaps the local nobility wanted to get rid of her specifically, and so they arranged for a monster. It's medium treason, so they could even get away with it.

In any case, it's too late for the speculation to lead to any useful actions. Her Hellknight escorts are dead, and the snake is closing in. She uses her Ray of Sickness and hopes.

It doesn't take. The snake's charge hits, she braces for impact, and...

It doesn't hit? Instead she notices a dizzying sensation and suddenly the air feels very different from the dusty cave air.

She's in a field pretty in the middle of nowhere; there's a bit of a meandering river and a few buildings on it, but beyond that, from where she's standing the fields of grain reach all the way to the horizon. There is a dirt road with a pair of metal tracks in it, but it's hard to know which direction to follow them.

Well this is confusing. The snake had some kind of triggering teleportation in it's mouth? And it only managed to trigger now? Or it could cast teleportation, but why do that to her, specifically?

Nonetheless, time to gather her bearings. Asmodeus doesn't care what happened to her; He cares what she can make happen to His benefit, here.

Observation time.

These are both huge fields and also seemingly extremely regular. Who would bend grain towards order to such a degree, and why?

The metal long metallic beams going in directions like they were a road(?) are also something to note, but it's not clear what to do about that. It would be possible to follow them but it seems long.

The buildings seem relevant. She will try to observe and approach closer to the buildings, carefully, and paying attention to her surroundings, especially to any signs of movement or noise.

The buildings are small, simple sheds, almost certainly having some kind of farming equipment behind their doors. The doors don't open for her though.

Hmmmm still confusing.

Breaking a door would give information but plausibly lose a bit of Law...

She walks around the shed.

Windows? Any kind of chutes to get a peek through? Any possibility to peek through the doorframes? Are the doors wooden or some more surprising material for a farming shed?

They are made of some kind of wood, although it feels weird to the touch. There is a window in one of the sheds, and she can see tools of some kind, rope, and a table as well as different kinds of strange metal parts.

Huh. The wood is some evidence that she is further out than she'd initially have guessed.

The tools look vaguely useful for someone empty handed. Metal parts might be informative but... likely not worth the hassle.

What's her next aim here. Find something informative? Would a river or a weird road serve better? She'll pick the road, on a gut feeling.

Decisions made, she'll take a quick look at the other sheds, and if they are similar in content continue to the dirt road with tracks. She'll take the direction more parallel to the river, or otherwise pick the more leftmost one.

Most of the sheds are similar, but... one of the sheds has a weird kind of... vehicle in it, it looks like a pushcart with two tines instead of a platform to put the thing you're moving!

It doesn't take a particularly long time before Monica sees a truly huge vehicle in one of the grain fields, well into the distance. It makes a constant whirring noise as it harvests a truly enormous amount of wheat.

!!

She drops into prone fast. Then takes a careful peek.

A grain-gathering bound outsider? Or something else... a machine that size surely couldn't move.

Options: Hide, Gather information, Flee, other

She'll hide for... a hundred rounds, as a test. If the massive whirring thing has a constant route she'll try to stay in a useful angle, keeping the shed as partial cover between her and the thing while observing.

It follows a fairly predictable route, really. Eventually, after some waiting, a cart following on the metal tracks shows up, gets a huge load of wheat dumped into it, and drives off at about walking speed. It went into the direction that Monica was walking in before stopping at seeing the machine.
