This is objectively the best history class to get. Hopefully there'll be recipes? Transmutation methods? She's so excited!

She has a right to a good seat, so she flops down in the middle away from any vents or drains. The desks here are cheap plastic, surprisingly modern. One of them doesn't have any scars in the surface or any writing on it; she makes sure not to sit at that one.

Yaaaay an alchemy class. Caio almost sits at the nice-looking desk but thinks better of it and takes one middleish instead, nodding to Hannah.

As history classes go this one will probably not be useless. Ennis takes one of the best seats, prodding it with a knife before sitting in it.

Hannah waves at the pair of freshmen she hasn't met before. "Hey you two, how've your days been? Tired yet?"

"My day has been all right thus far, thank you."

"I'm probably going to crash really hard as soon as I get back to my room but haven't yet."

"That's the spirit. Gotta put in a good showing on the first day, yeah?"

"Yeah. Lucky we inducted on a Thursday, probably some people need to do a whole week right off."

Naima runs in, looking slightly winded, figures out where the vents are, and then sits at one of the non-ventward seats at random. She looks around the room for any dangers she's missed, doesn't see anything obvious, and then begins flipping through the conveniently appearing textbook.

Shannon is walked over by Raleigh and arrives slightly late, due to pausing in the hall for some hasty emotional support. She looks around the room, and then shrugs and sits next to the vaguely familiar-looking girl whose name she nonetheless cannot place at all.

"Hi!" she says to Naima. "I'm Shannon."

If they were already introduced then she's going to melt in a puddle of embarrassment, but it'll be for like the tenth time today so she's getting used to it.

"Hi! Naima Saadawi, Cairo, healing."

"Oooooh, healing?" Shannon lights up. "Same! That's really cool. What track are you going for?"

"I haven't actually decided, the school has me split between alchemy and artificing classes right now - oh, are you - do you know Annisa? Uh, she does weapons?"

"...Uh, sorry, I'm not sure if I met her. She must be artificing, then? That's a really useful affinity!"

"Yeah, it is. Sorry, I just thought I remembered her saying something about how I should meet someone named Shannon, who also had a healing affinity? But I could just be backfilling the name. Anyway, glad to meet more healers."

"- No, I haven't met anyone else in our year, so that was probably me?" Annisa. The name is not ringing any bells but she's really ehh at names especially when she's stressed. "Does she hang out with Sacramen– oh! Her. Uh, yeah, I think I did meet her a bit, we're hallway neighbors."

"Oh cool, that'd explain it. Yeah, she said you were cool." Or something like that. The thrust was that she was cool, probably.

Oh wow! Shannon at the time didn't feel like she made a good impression at all, since the gist of their conversation was 'Shannon is clueless about boys and also drawing attention to having braces.'

"Any plans for the weekend?", she asks Caio. "I'm probably going to get my first tattoo."

"Uh, nothing that exciting. Probably hanging around the library."

"That's cool too. Good luck with whatever."

She turns her attention back to the lecture.
