Right. Okay. He's not going anywhere near the succubus no matter what the Desnans allegedly said, but he's willing to attempt to interview the rest of the Knight-Commander's companions.

Can anyone tell him where to find the rest of the Knight-Commander's companions?

Oh, sure! Ember's a couple blocks that way, and the fox-girl is in the inn, and the dragon's with the Commander, and probably the others are around somewhere. Oh, and the Commander's got a new one, a winged tiefling, down by the temple, she's really pretty.

How about he goes and talks to... Ember, a healing sorceress seems like a better bet than a wizard with memory issues or an Elysian dragon.

Here's Ember! Or someone meeting her description, anyways; there aren't a lot of elves in the city. She's... barefoot. And covered in burn scars. And probably a child, if he's any good at guessing elf ages.

He is not in fact particularly good at guessing elf ages; elves aren't unheard of in Lastwall, but they aren't particularly common.

"Are you the sorceress Ember?"

"I am! Who are you?"

"I am Ser Karnel Rabassa of Lastwall. I am writing a report on the miracle at Kenabres — that means, I'm writing about what happened, and what we can do in the future so that we don't need the Goddess to help us. I was hoping to interview you about what happened there, and possibly also about Desna's miracle in Drezen. Would you be willing to speak with me privately? The Knight-Commander's staff can verify my identity."

"No one needs the gods to help them," the elf says patiently. "She doesn't care about you, you know, not the way you care about her."

...That is not theologically false per se but somehow he doesn't feel like that's exactly how the elf meant it. "You don't need to speak with me if you don't want to."

"No, I can talk if you'd like, as long as Soot can come." (Her bird chirps.)
