"It's a pleasure."

Hira is glad that her English is as strong as it is; she barely has an accent, as far as people back home are concerned (which means she probably does have something that Manchester freshmen can notice, but that's minor next to everything else they need to worry about).

She can ask about everyone's affinities, what tracks they're considering, how they like their rooms (it's a good way to judge how sheltered someone has been, and it gets them to underestimate her)...she's ice and cold, incantations (languages), and "void wall, which is the simplest one to work with".

The Manchester kids are scattered around the Scholomance at random, of course, and they mostly seem well-adjusted and not too sheltered to have realized that they would in fact have to attend the Scholomance in all its sunless glory.

Smaller enclaves are useful for teaching that lesson; it's nothing like coming up in New York or Shanghai, where you can probably make it to adulthood without every learning a single thing, as long as someone can carry you through graduation. Not that Hira knows, personally; she's just guessing they're all kind of hopeless. When they've made the rounds and she's thanked everyone for talking to her, and talked a little about the other Jaipur freshman, she's ready to mingle with someone new.

"Thanks for showing me around. See you at dinner?"

"Yes, it was nice to meet you."
