The Bostonians have finished up all the furniture rebuilding that can productively be done as a group, so Marcy has just walked Franklin to his room and is now headed back to her own. She's keeping an eye out, because it wouldn't do to build bad habits, but it's the first night and she's going to be fine.
Destiny is walking to her room arm in arm with Morty; they took turns helping each other with furniture disassembly and now it's time for her room, but they're not in a huge rush and she's pausing to greet people in the hall and introduce herself. While absently swinging her kukri around in the hand not currently occupied by Morty's arm.
She smiles at the enclave girl and waves. With the kukri. "Evening!"
"Awww, thanks! She likes you too." Swing swing. "I'm Destiny. Oakland. This is the love of my life, Morty."
"Pleased to meet you both!" She pulls out her dagger, tosses it spinning well into the air, spins a full circle on the ball of her foot and catches it, because it wouldn't do to make her most beloved dagger jealous. "So, where are you from?"
"Ooh, that's a sweet dagger too. They should be friends. Wanna spar sometime? ...Oh, sorry. Sacramento enclave. You?"
"Boston. I'm up for sparring if it's the kind that builds mana and not the kind that uses it."
"Yeah, of course. You know any fighting styles? I never had proper lessons or anything, I just watched a lot of Youtube videos on knife-fighting."
"I had a knife-fighting tutor but I don't know if she had a style so much as a collection of exercises to get better at."
"That seems pretty useful, though! I'd love to trade tips. Oh - what track are you? I'm languages track. Morty's artificing."
"Oh, I bet I'll have some classes with both of you, then; I'm doing half and half."
"Well, you can put whatever you want in the schedule, right, they don't have to be related. If it turns out I can't get enough interesting classes I guess I'll have to pick one."
"Mmm. Well, good luck with that! You'll have to let me know how it goes. Me, I'm planning to play it safe. ...As much as you can, here. I'm fine fighting mals but I don't want my freaking homework coming after me, that's just embarrassing."
"Yeah, I'm not going to take anything where I don't think learning the material will be better for my odds than the time cost. But hey, at least the boring parts are good for mana."
Also she has an ace up her sleeve schedule-wise, which is that Kevin knows what kind of classes she wants and will sign up for a Marcy-optimized schedule so she can get the most use out of doing his homework. Next term he'll do the same thing for Abigail.
