He looks off in the direction where the civilians fled. "—If the necromancer might be one of them, we have to warn them!"

"Seelah, were you Detecting?"

Headshake. "I'm sorry, I didn't think to check over everyone — we could try to catch up and check?"

Blai nods. "Ride ahead, I'm slow, but if you can avoid engaging till you have backup we can make progress with a description."

She nods and rides off, trailed by Nenio and Ember, with Blai and Sosiel following more slowly. (At this distance it's possible to see that Ember slows down to start healing injuries accrued by the civilians in the course of fleeing the zombies.)

A little while into this, Nenio says something to her, and she whirls around and rides back towards Blai.

"Paladin girl expects that you would like to be made aware that one of the apparent civilians is under an illusion effect! Based on the effect on my cognitive faculties that I noticed while inspecting him with Detect Magic, I suspect he is using a Misdirection to conceal his alignment. Fortunately, he is evidently unskilled in illusions, enabling me to pierce it."

Nod. "I took another look once she pointed it out, and sure enough, Evil." She can relay a description.

(From the look of things up ahead, the suspected cultist has decided to take advantage of the delay to run away, but he's not being very careful about concealing his tracks.)

Too far away to nail with a Holy Javelin?

Looks like it. Not out of range for a Burst of Radiance or a Fireball or anything really long-range like that.

Is there a spot he can hit with a Burst of Radiance without hitting anyone else?

Yes! None of the civilians seem interested in chasing after the fleeing cultist, he's wide open.

"Burst of Radiance." Should slow him down enough for someone to catch him.

Unsurprisingly, he is Evil! And also blinded! He slows down and feels his way around the edge of a corner.

Oh! She has an idea! Haste!

Seelah pounds after him on her horse.

"Come on, let's hurry!" 

Yes yes he's in a lot of armor but what does it look like he's doing!

When they catch up, Seelah has backed the necromancer into a corner with nowhere to run, but hasn't actually managed to kill him yet. He's harrying her with a couple more zombies, but he didn't particularly have his pickings of which corpses he'd find in this alley, so they're not really doing much to hurt her.

If he Qualms the necromancer does that make the zombies also cut it out, since he's controlling them?

They get significantly worse at doing anything useful but it does still seem like they're trying to attack her.

He gets seven channels a day! Channel!

Now the zombies are dead!

The necromancer looks around the group. Takes a deep breath. This clearly isn't working, his zombies are dead, he's a wizard not a fighter — oh, he's got a better idea, Vaenic's got to follow all the ridiculous Shelynite rules — "Wait, stop, I surrender!" 

He smirks at Sosiel.

"Hands together and mouth shut."

Hands together! Mouth shut!
