Julia looks for more people to help with her room

The boys are making for terrible conversationalists and Zeke and Rebecca are being gooey at each other so Julia and Chloe stand up and wander around talking decorating plans. Chloe's planning to brew protective paints and make a mural out of them, "and I could maybe do something for your walls, too, once I've done mine - thanks for grabbing that sheet, it makes the void ceiling so much less depressing - what kind of mural would you want?"

"Well, I'm going for spaceship themed. Spaceship and Buddhist? Which isn't what I was thinking this morning but I'm actually really warming up to it? Buddhist modernism is an underexplored space - I just wish I'd thought about this in advance enough to put together a board of inspiration pics -"

Lissa perks up when she hears the word "decorating" and practically zooms over towards Julia, eyes sparkling. "Hey, are you decorating your room? Sorry, I just kind of overheard."

"Hey! Yeah, I am, do you want to help? I'm thinking with enough polish this place can look like a spaceship instead of a dump, and then I have this vaguely Buddhist rug so I'm thinking how to build off that for the decor."

"Oh, that sounds like it'd be much prettier!" agrees Lissa with a smile. "I don't really have anything for decorating with me but I guess I can help with arranging stuff or designs in general?"

"That works! We're all going to have to be creative, in this dump. I'll come find you when we're leaving?"

Lissa nods. "How much of an idea do you have already?" she asks. "I can do a few design sketches while I'm waiting if you want."

"Oh, great. I will sketch you what my rug looks like, so you have that for inspiration, and I want a mirror on the wall next to the door with some shelving for my makeup and a shoe rack right next to the door so I don't wear my street shoes on my rug, and we're going for trapezoids because we don't have the tools to cut metal with curvature - have you been to pick up paper already so I can draw it for you?"

Lissa reaches into her bag, rummages around, and pulls out a sketchbook and pencils. "I can do you one better," she says with a bit of a grin. Said sketchbook has a fairly large number of empty pages as well, although there are a few various figure drawings in the front.

"The supply room had a sketchbook? It must really love you. Okay, well, I'll try to draw the rug, though, full warning, I'm not an artist..."

"Oh, no, it's mine from home," she says by explanation. "As long as you get the size right, it should be mostly fine? And I guess let me know the color too."

"Oh, are you another one of the poor kids who got sucked in when Chicago went missing? You poor thing. It's a muted dark red and a blueish green, symmetrical, with the border like this and the center like this -" She's not a particularly good artist but she paid her rug a lot of attention.

Lissa nods at her description and the sketch. "Yeah, I guess I'm lucky I already had some stuff packed." No need to get into too much detail about how she was planning to run away from home, she thinks as she leans in close to get a better look at the drawing. "Yup, I can work with that."

"Awesome! Thank you! I'll come by and catch you in a bit, then."

Lissa nods. "See you then!" She goes back to carefully picking at her food while studying Julia's sketch.

She wanders off with Chloe.
