She giggles too. "I don't know if angels are even real though. A lot of things are fictional."

The supervisor gives a Look at this but doesn't correct her.

"We must compare notes on what is fictional!"

Sam is eager about this prospect!

She seems to have a good idea - lots of things she knows definitely are fictional. She's less eager to say something is very definitely real, since she hasn't actually seen any of the things.

Zeke does have a little trouble remembering what superheroes are real and which are pretend.

"Yeah, that's complicated. Did you know that 'Paladin' was actually a real guy? He just died a while ago. But they don't call being tough and flying Paladin Powers for nothing."

"Cool! Well, I guess me and Tabby are halfway there."

"Yeah, guess so!"

They spend some time speculating on which other heroes are probably real. Sam likes Vorpal because his power sounds a little similar to hers - he bends space and mostly uses it to move himself, people, and things around super fast.

Tabby is a little too interested in the villains.

The scientists think that if someone is going to be antisocial and uncooperative the time for this playdate is over now.

"Do you understand what being good means here?"

"Being nice and cooperative," she sing songs. Her smile is a little forced.

"Well- Broadly, yes. We're trying to teach you all to be healthy productive members of society. A lot of that is knowing the rules and following them. If you play nice we can have... Another forty five minutes or so, sound good?"

"Yay!" she nuzzles the Angie-cub.

The big bad chaperone-scientist-guy retreats to the corner to read his stack of papers.

"Your magic is so coooool."

Joey prompt assumes a form somewhere between wolf and child. It's obscenely adorable.

Sam still edges away from it. Fur and carpet and anything fluffy, she doesn't do well near.

They've made noticeable progress on the puzzle, but are nowhere near done.

Angie is surprisingly good at puzzles.

It's still a pretty complicated puzzle for a bunch of kids to do in an hour.

When the chaperone calls an end to the playdate he offers to try and move the puzzle, as intact as possible, back to their room. Looks a bit bored about it though.

"Um, Mr, could Joey and Angie take it?"

"...Huh, let me ask."

He whispers into his walkie-talkie for a little while. "Yes, they can take it if you two don't mind. What a kind thought, Tabitha! Very good."

The lycos give her a very appreciative look.

"Bye Sam. It was very good meeting you."

"You too! I hope we can play together again."
