"Since when are you a nerd?" asks Zach, furrowing his brows as he leans on his elbows on the edge of the pool.
"Since a couple of hours ago. It's a special kind of nerd only the coolest people get to be."
...was that Tae-hwan's response last time Peter talked about self-awareness? Eric bets it was.
...hmmm. Yeah, he gets why Peter would always end up sounding dismissive in a way that felt condescending and made Eric get kinda annoyed, there isn't really a way to answer Tae-hwan's question in a way he'll understand.
"The problem is ups, uh, upstream, Peter," he says, answering Peter's thoughts (probably). "You should just pass on the snappy one liners that you inevitably can't explain. Honestly you should probably just pass on them anyway, they're kinda a, like, risky as a form of humor."
Oh no. Eric can't actually lie to Zach, he's not sure there's literally anyone who can. Also, that's his squint, thank you very much.
