When she wakes up Millie is petting her hair.

Pet pet pet.

"Millie."

Her hand stops moving. "Morning."

"Hi . . ."

Millie looks at her, then gets up and goes to change clothes and get some breakfast started.

Judy stays on the couch to sit and think but then falls back asleep almost immediately.

Millie is gone for work when she wakes up again.

Oh no now she's all alone again - no.  This is fine.  It's been like this every day.  Though she does wish she'd been able to resolve things a bit before Millie left.  What if she's sad?  That would be terrible.

. . . What if she's mad?

Millie's great and so nice and probably isn't going to kick her out over this, however it shakes out.  But.  It would be pretty reasonable for her to be less enthused about hosting someone who's in this sort of awkward situation with her than someone she's happily dating.

(Judy's better-rested than she has been any other day but in a way also more tired; she doesn't feel like walking to the library.  Probably it's the same thing as why she started trusting Millie; she felt like she had to be on all the time and now that the initial panic is over and she's relaxed even a little it's all caught up to her.  She occupies herself with singing and minimally disruptive cleaning and Millie's bookshelf.)

There's one obvious solution to this, isn't there.  She'll just have to pretend to be gay.

Millie deserves better than this from her but it kind of seems like her only choice here.  And if she keeps it up forever then Millie won't ever find out; no harm no foul and all that jazz.  And this way Judy'll get more cuddles, too, which is an awfully selfish consideration but judging by last night she doesn't actually have the willpower to resist them.

(For the last hour before Millie's scheduled to come home, Judy can't concentrate very well, and instead of her previous activities she frets and hopes and misses.)

Here's Millie! "I'm home! How're you doing?"

"Millie!!  Hi!  I'm good - are you okay did you sleep okay; I had to heal off a crick in my shoulder do you need anything like that - "

"Oh, my arm was asleep but it cleared up after a minute. But I did get a paper cut." She holds out a bandaged finger.

Hey magic that's unacceptable!  Judy gestures a flourish as indication even though Millie should be able to feel what she did.

Millie grins at her. "Thanks." She peels the bandaid off.

"You're welcome.  How was your day?"

"Oh, mostly fine, but there was some guy who said he lost his credit card, and half the time that's a scam and half the time you're ruining somebody's week, I always hate it when that happens..."

"Oh no, that sounds really stressful," Judy replies earnestly.

"Yeah! And none of the standard things to get them to try work, and he winds up going somewhere else."

"Gosh."  Maybe Millie should be ushered to the couch for consolatory cuddles.

Millie is very usherable. Snug.

. . . Tentative backpet.

"Mmm," sighs Millie.

Less-tentative backpet!  Which if uninterrupted may evolve into a backrub or even a full-on massage.
