"What other firsts should I aim to be?"

"...I'm not sure, I don't have a big list of things I need to get around to as soon as I have a boyfriend."

"Not just boyfriend things, I mean. Just... things. I guess there'll be Paris, sometime."

"Things that don't have to wait on a boyfriend I have mostly already arranged to do, if they were important, and the exceptions are like, I don't see how you would arrange to be my first medical school, even if that were not probably on hold because there's magic. But I do hear good things about Paris."

"Also things that require a fuckton of money! Or magic!"

"Well those I don't have a list of because I wasn't anticipating them coming up eventually!"

"New experience for Yutaka and Haru to share: writing up a list of things Haru wants to do with a fuckton of money and magic."

"Principally for their, like, recreational and/or information value, presumably?"

"Yeah."

"I've never been to Tokyo Disney, we actually made plans once but then I broke my ankle and we hadn't bought the tickets yet so we skipped it."

"Oh we can do that! I haven't been in forever, I bet they got tons of new rides."

"Do they update them that often? The article I read about this was in English so it might just be about the American parks but it said that since they tend to hire people who are really passionate about Disney attractions they resist turnover because they are passionate about existing Disney attractions."

"Sometimes? When there's a big hit of a movie or something. I haven't been in years."

"Well, then we can find out, I guess."

"We can!"

Their next date location is: the Miraikan! Has Haru been?

Not very recently!

Then Yutaka would love to take him there. Their current temporary exhibit is very apropos: it's about surviving versus thriving, a history of humanity's progress towards a world where they can overcome all adversity and no one is left behind in poverty, illness, or hunger. It talks about agriculture and the Industrial Revolution and vaccines and penicilin, and each step in the exhibit has a little interactive infograph about human life expectancy at various points in history as well as poverty rates, literacy rates, child mortality, maternal mortality...

"The theme is a fortuitous coincidence, right?"

"Yeah, I could not have arranged this since 6AM this morning."

"Of course you don’t deny that you would’ve."

"Of course I would've! The only thing that would've made this more tempting would've been the possibility of adding you to the steps in humanity's progress, but we have to be all, like, secretive and stuff..."

"I haven't even eradicated malaria. Every time I think I've got it, it turns out to have a reservoir in the, uh, timeline."

"Well, yet. We'll get there." And they'll also figure out a way to get Haru all of his memories so he can feel whole, be whole.

They will also hold hands. It's important.
