"I live in Japan where I'm not yet fluent in the language and I'm eight years old but I can give it a shot," says Mimoto.

"Being in Japan's not an issue for the addresses; I have internet when I open the door.  Do you think your mom could do it?"

"She has a better accent than me but she's not going to be much better at getting parcels delivered."

"Mm.  We can work out the details if it becomes clear there's not some much better option than this."

Nod nod.

"What year were you guys from?"

"Julien and I are from 2030, Mimoto is from what appears to be a very similar but not completely identical timeline fourteen years earlier."

"Huh.  Anything obvious I should bring home?  Cheap things, that I don't have to turn into scientists or the government to be useful."

"Maybe? Most of our tech is dungeon material influenced at this point, though that doesn't mean you can't make use of it. What would you like to use things for, like, a supply of Lahore foam isn't going to be useful if you don't have any ties to auto manufacturing or at least bicycle manufacturing."

"Not a phone, because it won't be able to talk to your network - do you know if Bar charges for e-books; could you just get the biggest e-reader in the multiverse with a bazillion books already on it -"

"It's worth asking."  He gets up to go do that.

E-books are in this respect like hard copy books, though often less expensive. I cannot convert between formats, so this will limit you to books that have been published in forms accessible to a reader you would like to take home and will find usable with your infrastructure.

"Shoot.  Thank you anyway."  He sits down again.  "No dice."

"Darn.  Should we let you get back to your reading until we think of something better, then?"

"- Yeah, I'd appreciate that.  Thanks.  Uh, nice talking to you."

"Let us know if you think of anything we can do for you!"

"Yeah, vice versa."  Book!

Julien lets Haru out of the booth.  "For the next one, I've already made eye contact with the rainbow-haired girl?"

"Sounds like a fine criterion. Hi there."

"Hi."

"Hello!  I'm Julien and this is Traceless.  Mind if we sit down with you?"

"Suit yourselves. I can't give anybody else hair like mine if that's what you're after, I got it walking into a magic and most people don't get results that good."

"Traceless has rainbowish hair in the sun and I'm hoping mine continues to grow in like this!  We just want to chat with everyone here; it seems really interesting and maybe useful.  Magics are a thing you can walk into, where you're from?"

"Yeah, that's where I found the door that led here."

"Is it your first time?  What's your name?"
