"Yes, Mr. Doucet."  She very carefully tries the door, just enough to look through, then closes it.

"It's the hallway outside my room!  At home, properly!"

"Is there anybody from your world you want to bring in, your parents or anything?"

"I don't have those.  I may want to bring in a caretaker but I will think about it first."

"...legit." Haru squeezes Julien's hand and gets up to go over to Beau. "Hi there, I'm Traceless."

"You're a regular here? What kind of world are you from?"

"Earth, 2020."

"I'm getting the sense that Earth doesn't narrow it down much, the girl's Earth is not a sphere! Is yours? Have you got espers?"

"It's a sphere.  No.  At least not by a name the translation effect chose to hit."

"Any magic at all?"

"Nope.  I guess a lot of Earths have a pandemic this year; we skipped that somehow.  What are espers?"

"We're people with superpowers. Like so." He flickers invisibility for a moment; he's having a conversation anyway and Julien's right over there. "Though different people have different ones, and we pick up side effects from using them."

"Woah.  Neat!"

"I certainly think so. So how do you get here more than once?"

"The same way I got here once, just more than.  'Regular' is overstating it.  It's only my second time."

"Gotcha. Have you met anyone else who's been here more than once?"

"A few, yeah.  This older lady said upwards of fifty times."

"What was her secret?"

"If she had an idea, she didn't tell me."

"Anything we oughta know that wouldn't be obvious yet?"

"There's security and an infirmary, I guess.  Don't start any fights.  Did you already hear about the free drink?"

"I don't think so, is that just what it sounds like, espers make good money."

"Pretty much.  Bar gives good recommendations, though.  Let her pick for you if you get anything."
