"A lot of people don't like tribe-emotion. It's kind of perception-distorting. It's fine for stuff where that's part of the point, like artistic movements or activist groups or something, but for casual stuff it's just weird and in the way."

Well, if they don't like it he isn't going to argue with them about it.

There are other sports teams that do it differently but this is how this one does it. They play in their randomized teams until they're all sweaty and laughing.

Kyeo will try not to get too attached to his randomized team and enjoy the game reasonably well.

When it's time to wrap up for the evening a few of the other players, not all from his team, stop by on their way out and say "I benefitted from you being here and I would be happy to see you come back next time!" They all use almost exactly the same words despite not seeming to otherwise coordinate with each other.
