As far as Anathema Potter-Canta is concerned, the end of fifth year has been by far the best yet. Her mom seems on the mend, even if Anathema is trying very hard not to think too much about her mom's taste in girlfriends. (Well. Single girlfriend. Bellatrix flirts with Fay a lot but doesn't seem to actually be doing anything about that, unlike how she's hanging off of Elodie.) They thumbed their noses very successfully at Voldemort, and Anathema's pretty sure there's been fallout from that but none of it's hit her, so. The last month of term is peaceful, despite the Transfiguration NEWT McGonagall insists they take trying to murder Anathema personally. (That is possibly a slight exaggeration. They probably passed, at least.) (She barely even notices it when Fudge loses his runoff against Director Bones in a landslide, except with a vague 'good riddance.')
And, most importantly, Anathema has a wife who is the most beautiful and smartest person in the world, and she has a wedding and honeymoon to plan. It's just family and very close friends, nothing big, and Anathema's never cared about social propriety, so the planning isn't as stressful as she usually hears people complaining about. Her mom lets her draw whatever she wants out of the full family vaults to pay for it, not just the little slice accessible to Anathema at her age. They're sticking with the magic beach Elodie recommended for the party and the first bit of the honeymoon, and Anathema wants music and obscenely fancy catered food, a new dress, jewelry - including a custom ring she commissions for Ellie, with as many runic enchantments woven in as a rune carver willing to work with muggle precision tools can carve.
She's having the time of her life.
Her mom's smiling more often, at ease, by the time the wedding date fully rolls around. Anathema wants to hold it at midsummer - she'd started a lot of this before confirming their venue, but the near date still leaves her rushing to get everything ready (money helps dramatically, as does the small size of the wizarding community - things in general aren't too busy). Smuggling her mom into France isn't hard at all. She's floating on cloud nine the whole time they spend planning, staring at her wife every chance she gets with a broad grin on her face.
(They're married.)
