"We have several months worth of food, water, and air but not enough to last until we expect resupply or rescue. So we need to acquire more. Preliminary scans indicate that the planet probably has breathable air and clearly has water so our main limit is going to be food."

Honestly giving this much of a concession is probably a mistake but Kai was out first and he's feeling pretty generous given the planet is on track to be named after him side 7.
"So Blue Noa for the planet, Septimus for the star, and maybe New Atlantis for the island?"
The first two are only logical. New Atlantis was just the first island name she could thing of but it feels right.

"You lot sure settle things easily, I'm not disagreeing with any name, but this is a pretty momentous occasion. The naming of a whole new world feels like it should be more of a big deal.
This all feels... anticlimactic. Future generations will watch the cam footage and expect a proud line of humanities finest marching out the door ready to conquer a brave new world. This feels more like a field trip."
Not that it feeling like a field trip was a bad thing. The white base crew sure were very relaxed for a military crew, but it must be a good way of doing things since they went pretty much undefeated during the war.
"Quick decision making has always been one of our strong points. I do have a speech planned, but am saving it for the flag raising and official naming."
This is not technically a lie in that he is planning it now.
"The flag is still secured in storage from the descent. If Fraw fetches it while we get the site set up we'll be ready to go."
Bright manages to pull together a short little speech in the time it takes to set everything up.
"On this day November 11th 0080 on the island of New Atlanis, on the planet Blue Noa of the Septimus system I, Captain Bright Noa of the Earth Federation, declare the foundation of man’s first interstellar settlement."
"After a year of war humanity can once again look to the stars with hope, and with the knowledge that we are not alone in the universe. On this new planet which is neither Earth nor space we can build a society that is prepared to meet the creators of the technology that brought us here or serve as worthy replacements should they have fallen to the depths of time."
He plants the flag.

A good enough speech that even Char manages to refrain from slow clapping and claps genuinenly.
Kai will complain that the speech didn't include anything about being on Shiden field but does have enough sense to wait until after the applause ends.
Fraw will use the comms relay to forward a recording of the speech back to Pluto, and from there presumably Earth.
