He wanders towards anything that could be described as a market area.

There's a market area quite nearby. People are selling everything from dye to pigeons.

Including things like, say, clothes? He'll wander clothes-shopping for a while and ask whether there's a good place to try the fit of things.

Here is a tailor's stall! There's a change room back at their shop, which is left, past the hedgerows, right, look for the sign with the spool of thread.

Sure, he'll go find the tailor shop. If he's going to be regularly wearing things, they really need to fit.

A young man with bright green eyes meets him at the counter. "Hello there! What are you looking for?"

"A whole new wardrobe! Maybe three or four outfits. With a nice fit, and hopefully on the cheap side. It's a long story."

He whips out a ruler. "I shan't pry. Any preference as to color?"

"Well, what's cheap? Cool colors, though. I'm a rel'he if you've relevant needs I could barter about."

Linen shirts, natural dyes. Vibrant colors are rare. If he's frugal he can get three outfits, underwear, socks and a belt for three silver. 

"That will do nicely for now, thank you very much!"

He will go buy an apple or pastry to break one of his three remaining silver and have a snack, then wander back into the user collective with the outfits bundled under his arm.

"Hey, you're back! And we have a room for you. May I take those, you look like you could use some help."

"Oh, sweet! And thank you. By the way are there laundry machines in the basement or something?"

"Laundry machines? We have an automatic dryer, I don't know if the design is familiar to you, but all the washing is done by hand. It's one of Clematis' chores."

"No, we have machines that churn them around with special soap. I guess our soap's probably better. Keeps striking me that we have so many conveniences, but not magic."

"I hear you're working on bringing that to us. Very kind of you."

"I mean- Yeah. But we already talked about that, I guess."

"Sorry, I'm not that great at small talk. Figured it was better than the other topics available."

"The other topics being, what, sex? Corruptors? I suppose so. It's pretty clear I'm going to have to get used to both ideas though."

"Yeah, but there's no reason to be a dick about it. The realities of the situation will set in soon enough."

"...I think I'll be okay. Not, like, not weirded out, but okay. Should I get introductions to some other rel'he once we put these in my new room?"

"Yeah sure, I can introduce you. There's only like twenty of us anyway, you've met most of the significant people..."

"Sort of reminds me of what college is supposed to be like, really. Hannah, Rosalie, you, Clematis..."

"You'll want to know Rian, Vi, Lin and Avera. Rian's our historian, Vi helps moderate the boards, Lin experiments with electricity and Avera's our militia liaison. Then there's another dozen or so who are less remarkable, though you might want to know them anyway given you're living here. Uhhhh... Alva studies the sky, Encora is a serious musician, Nix is noble-born, Mia is farmer stock, Cal goes monster hunting, Ingrid knows the mayor, Vincus and Jinra travel together a lot, Valerie was going to be a noble maid in the capitol until she got involved in a scandal, Jack likes his liquor, Max we're just training up... Did I forget anyone? I think there might be one or two more but I'm coming up blank."

"Oh, thank you. Electricity is amazingly useful! Definitely want to talk to Lin. I don't know where you're at astronomy wise, or if she's more about the weather than the stars, but I might have stuff to show Alva too. The militia is in case of monsters or corruptors?"
