The timer beeps. It's officially her third day.
She closes her coloring book and puts her colored pencils away.
She orders some Aphrodia juice and slurps it through a straw.
... mmmmm. Alright, time to take on the day.
"I'll take that as the compliment it was intended to be." There's a little warmth in Lily's voice, a stark contrast to her clipped british tones. "So? Go on."
"I, um. This is going to sound silly, but... I would really like to cook something for you. Maybe a dinner date?"
"Oh," says Lily. There's a pause. "Oh. And this just occurred to you on its own, did it?"
"Oh, don't you start. I got enough of that from my therapist." But there's a smile in her voice.
There's a little pause, and then -
"... On one hand, hearing you want to make food for me is... well, there's no point in that unless the making of it is the point, right? So you're saying that... you want to be of service to me. You value me. You want to be a part of my life. And it just... occurring to you... says that you're probably crushing on me. Am I right?"
"You see, the trouble is... I'm still not sure that..."
She pauses.
"No, that's stupid, I do like you, you're smart and cute and fun to play with and I feel like I can trust you with anything but-"
"I would really like to eat food you cooked for me. That would be... special. I don't know if I'm ready to accept... all the things that come with it... but when I look at myself, really honestly look at myself, well..."
"Yes, but it's more than that. My mind keeps... floating back to our walk in the garden. When you came upon me picking lilies. And to kissing you, and to... the feeling of you underneath me..."
Is that a blush that Audrey can hear in her voice?
