"Coloring is really quite delicate work, isn't it? You have all these tiny little shapes to fill in..."

"Mmmmhm. It takes focus."

"I use coloring as a therapy sometimes, doing abstract designs like mandaluxes."

"What's a mandalux?"

"It's like a mandala, but personalized to the person coloring it. So symbols they like are in it, or colors they prefer... well that part is obvious if you color it."

"I see!"

"Is coloring meditative for you?"

Skritch skritch, look up. "Yeah, it can be."

"How long does one of these pages usually take?"

"An hour or two for a first pass, another two hours for blending and burnishing. If you're fast like me."

"How long would you expect it to take for me?"

"Mmmmm... eight hours."

"Wow. That's not going to fit into our time."

"Not if you do a full page, no. You can practice with something smaller."

"Alright! Do you have something like that for me?"

"Yep!" Audrey flips through her books and comes to a small inset of a flower. "Do this, it has enough detail to be real."

"Okay! I'm going to need you to teach me blending and burnishing."

"Yeah, I can do that!"

Tasha picks out a pencil crayon and starts laying color onto her flower.

Audrey settles in to color her witch's hat.

Eventually, Tasha finishes her flower. "There!"

She drops her pencil and massages her hand. "Ow."

"Yeah, pressing too hard can do that. It's especially bad when burnishing."

"Look at what I've done though!" She holds up her flower.

Audrey shows her witch. She's dark-skinned with pink raiment with gold edging.

"Very nice!"
