How long did that take to be made? What exactly does it do?

So the kind of disease you can catch from someone else are caused by tiny, tiny living things, and your body learns how to fight them off which is why you mostly don't get the same one twice, and ones you do like colds it's because they change enough, genetically, that your body's existing defenses against them go obsolete. Vaccines are dead versions of the tiny creatures that cause disease, so your body can learn how to fight them without your having to actually get sick."
