Sendhei is indeed dancing. He's not naked, but he's wearing that same lewder-than-naked outfit from before. Taharqi is sitting on the floor, cross legged, a bowl of some thick white paste in one hand and a spoon in the other, watching Sendhei with a slight smile. Now that she can see him, the magical effect is, perhaps not exactly any more noticeable (to non-magical senses), but definitely stronger. It's like receiving a massage, but without the part where massages hurt.

"Good morning," says Sendhei to Saevetei when he sees her.

"Good morning," she says brightly, smiling at him. "Your magic is very sneaky and interesting! I'm sorry for not noticing earlier!"

She should also probably acquire food. What... is the paste that Taharqi is eating. Can she tell just by looking at it? (Probably not.)

"I stopped dancing just as you arrived, I guess it makes sense." His magic (or rather, a different magic thing that happens to be happening at the same time from the same source) is also making the drum sound! It would be very boring to dance to no music.

"This is some dried nuts and berries with cactus fruit sap. There's a bowl outside, middle floor, if you want some," he says, pointing back at the stairs she came from.

"And I can't really perceive magic that's not actively doing something. Even then it's kind of iffy. My body's built for channeling essence, not perceiving it. Anyway, I'll go try the cactus medley and be back with questions, if you don't mind?"

"Sure!"

When she returns with food, her questions are:

"So is it the act of dancing that does the magic, as in the movement itself, or is there something else going on?"

"It's... the dancing, but not just the dancing, not anyone who dances can do it. You gotta do it right."

Despite the conversation, Sendhei seems barely winded, and he doesn't stop dancing to chat.

"That's so interesting! Do you know what other people might be missing, if they were to just try dancing? Or how you'd teach someone to do it right?"

"I could teach someone, I think, but it's... I dunno if there's a thing missing really, it's not like that."

"So... more like getting lots of little details right over missing a key unseen component?"

"I... think so, yeah. That feels closer."

"Huh! Okay, so if you were teaching someone, which things are most important for someone to get right? Or are they all equally important."

Sendhei looks at Taharqi, who grins at him and shrugs, then does a final twirl with his hip and swirl with his body that ends on him sitting on the ground, the drum fading to silence as he does that. The immediate feeling of relief slowly fades as well, but the soreness and pain are decidedly lessened.

"Equally important?" he guesses. "Getting fewer things right means doing less well not doing nothing at all."

Taharqi gets to his feet, his bowl of cactus porridge appropriately empty, and makes his way upstairs to fetch Sendhei some.

"Huh! Okay. And you can tell when you get things right or not?"

"Yeah. But you can too, right?"

"Tell when you get things right? ... I guess so, yeah. Is your ability to perceive getting it right about the same as mine?"

"Yeah."

"Well the implications of that are very interesting, it might mean that there are other dances to do other sorts of things. Or maybe this is a one off. Without knowing the theory behind it I really couldn't do anything more than speculate! It's very exciting. But as much as I want to figure out the why behind the what, I should actually probably instead leverage the magic I do know now instead of getting distracted like the magic nerd I really am."

Sendhei laughs, and thanks the returning Taharqi for the bowl of gruel. "Maybe you could teach her how to dance."

"I think women's dances are different."

"In ways that matter?"

    "Hmm. Maybe not."

"I would be delighted to learn how to dance! But probably in about ten years after I have your bracelets and immortality sorted out, and I have disseminated books on how to tie one's soul to the dream world to the entire continent at the very least," she says, brightly. "Or I guess if I'm restless and bored, but I'd be a very flaky and distracted student then, which seems sort of unfair to you as a teacher."

"Most people can't read," Taharqi mentions.

"Damnation. That will be trickier but not impossible to overcome. I'll need to figure out little charming devices to recite to people all of the ingredients and the preparation steps. Or something."

"You have got your work cut out for you."

"So, Tuesday, then?" says Saevetei, dry.

Sendhei sporfles and then looks confused by himself. "I don't know what a 'Tuesday' is, but yes, probably," says Taharqi.
