"I wouldn't expect werecreatures to have anything to do with a cult of Urgathoa. They aren't undead. This is worrying."

"The cult is probably more important, but we should ask when we get back. Maybe someone else will have seen something."

Onwards?

Onwards. Navarro follows his map through the cramped tunnels. The maze slowly spirals downward until they exit into familiar straight passageways. Sewer water is flows openly down the middle of this place. At evenly spaced points, there are doorways in the stone. Some spiral up in staircases, some have lead into long dark tunnels, and some are just holes in the wall, leading to nowhere. The commercial access tunnels.

They reach a crossroads. Tencednil recognizes it, but there's no wooden barrels down the walkway this time.

And she has no Lhín to investigate. Of course, there should be nobody to notice them if they go in person this time...

"Which way here?"

Navarro is reading his map. "I think it should be to our left... somewhere around here..."

"I do have Invisibility. I can give it to you if you want to look in and not be seen?"

He looks up from his map. "Oh! Right. That would be very useful. How long does yours last?"

"About five minutes."

"More like from a third circle wizard than a second. Good. Please give me one."

Nod. Invisibility.

Navarro disappears.

After a few minutes of silence, the squad hears Navarro's voice once more. "Well. Um. It seems like something took care of the cult for us. There's... at least a dozen corpses in the room I found. There was painting of a skeletal woman on the ceiling."

She is silent for a moment, apparently taken aback. Does anyone else respond?

Garril seems surprised, although it's hard to be sure with his helmet on. "What wounds did they have? Did it look like some sort of horrible beast killed them? Or was it damage from weapons?"

"It's strange... most had no wounds at all. No pulse or body heat either. It's like they just dropped dead spontaneously."

He pauses. "I don't like this, detective."

"Especially if there's something enraging the wererats. We should get back and inform the rest of the guard."

"Indeed. I don't know what to make of this. Perhaps our intel leaked and some adventurer or vigilante took it upon themselves to solve the problem for us. Or a dreadful monster more terrible than we know of is roaming the sewers."

Navarro turns around and walks back the way they came.

She... looks around in confusion. Probably that means they should be going back to the Citadel? She starts walking back, and hopes Navarro is either doing the same or will notice when he loses them.

"We can't see you, detective!"

"Oh! You lead the way back to the Citadel, Garril. I'm... not used to being invisible."

Their ascent back up through the sewers and tunnels is uneventful. Navarro becomes visible shortly after they start moving. The trek to Citadel Volshyenek is a familiar one. It seems to pass them by quickly.

When he becomes visible, she feels something relaxing which she hadn't noticed existed. Possibly she could release it on her own? She'll need to check if wizards are supposed to be able to turn off their Invisibilities, that might be useful at some point.

Back out, quietly this time. Always the best sort of sewer experience.

They walk through the doors of the Citadel and arrive back in the planning room. Navarro leaves to meet with his superiors in a debriefing.

Twenty minutes pass in relative silence.
