Howabout we get this over with quickly so we all can move on to real trials? Most of the alignments didn't even show up; this is just some monstrous humanoid who no one cares about.
Are you complaining that, when you sorted all souls into nine planes, one of which is defined only by benevolence towards all, then when you call representatives of that plane to argue at trials, they care about the souls on whose behalf they argue??
do you know your name?
do you know where you are?
does it sound to you like we are speaking in a language you understand, using words that you are familiar with, at a speaking speed you can follow?
do you understand that you had, while alive, the capacity to take actions, and that those actions had effects on the world and on other people?
do you understand that the purpose of this court is to determine your alignment and which afterlife you are assigned to?
Name is Scout Gogunnon, of the Green Moss Boggards! There are more of us than any other Boggards in the fens, and our king is scarier than any other king in the fens!
Yes I understand your words and that you are the great spirits who know the doings of the dead, and judge whether to eat them or reward them with power.
that's one of the ones who might eat you, if you get sorted to the abyss – this is a trial to decide whether you go there or whether your alignment fits one of the other afterlives
Okay. Can't be too hard to be more convincing than that.
While the decedent has a few evil acts, as is true of nearly all mortals, the greatest portion of life was spent engaged in neutral activities such as sleeping and basking in the sun. Most of its energy and effort was dedicated to pro-social activities such as singing, carving tools, and hunting birds. Working to provide sustenance for ones fellows, including the noncombatants and young, is a good action. So is maintaining shared resources such as the tribes weapons and tools. So is creating art that provides enjoyment. These good actions were repeated habitually, establishing a pattern of consistent good actions.
In many cases it followed orders from those viewed as leaders in its social context, and acted in accordance with the traditions of its people. In a few instances, particularly when hungry, it tried to break these traditions. The lack of consistent systemic alignment in either direction establishes neutrality.
So, neutral good?
oh, this is easy then
decedent is ruled chaotic evil, based on the abyss' argument that it sure did do a few murders
