"Right, I don't have any backlash," he gets out of Cara's way and gestures her into place, "and I'm not sure if we're all the same amount of compatible, either."

She wriggles back into place, some tenson starting to leave her body once she's touching Lucy again. 

"Huh, how would we check?" 

"It'll be easier to tell when you're both zeroed out and we can see at baseline. I think I'm more compatible with Lucy than I am with you, at least on my end, it's sometimes asymmetrical."

“We’re gonna be espers!”

"We are going to be espers!! Gosh." that's... exciting? It's supposed to be exciting, she's pretty sure. but mostly she just feels... what does she feel? huh. hard to tell. 

“This is Traceless! He has an amazing blog! And he rescued me from a dungeon once!”

"This is a lot of coincidences but fortunately they all seem to add up to you two having a comparatively nice awakening. Maybe all those ER folks who want espers on call to check for suspected awakenings should just be having the patients poke each other."

“That would rule out multiple espers in the batch but not any one. I think. This is a pretty big coincidence.”

"Yeah, but the argument you always hear is 'one in fifty thousand people is an esper but most people aren't young adults in the ER'... and it'd be cheap."

They are talking a lot and it's a bit hard to follow but they haven't asked her to do anything new and she's being a good blanket and she is SO TIRED so she is just going to chill here -

She perks up a bit excitedly. "I'm tired! And... I noticed all on my own?"

"Do you want to nap and then have your curry later or wait five minutes for it to show up?"

Oh that's a really hard question. Does she - hmm, no, that's not quite working yet, it's frustratingly at the edges... "Woah. My brain is really weird right now???"

"...Um. I should. really eat first... because... I had a very light dinner last night, and. haven't had anything since."

"Okay. That's convenient since probably you should sleep on Lucy, who herself needs food."

Yay being convenient! She's going to get a good grade in awakening esper.

The mental motion of when did I last eat? was way easier than am I hungry?, is that a rule that generalizes? When did she last sleep?

"...Oh. Um. So I am noticing that... I didn't really sleep last night? I might be out for a long time."

"You good to turn in very early, Lucy? Or like read a book or something while slept on."
