"I don't think we have any, no, does a lot of the dye come off?"

"Only a little bit, at this point, but if your towels are white it can take a few wash cycles for them to fade out. I could DIY a cap with some plastic wrap?"

"Oh, there's some white ones but there's also dark green ones, grab one of those and don't worry about it."

She will do that! She does her best to shower quickly be efficient so you can get back to being guided, be efficient so you can get back to being guided, be efficient so you can get back to being guided, and make her way back out still slightly damp, seeking Haru for medicinal cuddles (and maybe... medicinal makeouts?)

If she would like medicinal makeouts he can provide these.

It takes her a few minutes to initiate them! But when she does, she very clearly wants them.

"mmmmmm"

Guiding smooches: they are the bomb.

Yeah. they really, really are.

There's still several hours until karaoke, so - maybe they can do some backlash testing?

Sure. Haru is particularly interested in whether she can memorize extended protocols and then have them called by title, so he could say things like "self-care checklist" or something instead of going through all the checklist items himself - "Especially since I can't read when I'm too backlashed."

She can read a list, out loud or in her head, at any level of backlashed, if someone tells her to.

List items that say things like "Eat/Ask for food if you're hungry" are not super useful, but "Eat/Ask for food if you haven't eaten in the last 4 hours" work great.

Newer orders take precedence over older ones. Ambiguous orders can get her to ask for clarification, especially when a new order seems like it might contradict with an older one. Verbal orders seem to have higher priority over text orders. Orders forbidding actions have higher priority than orders that request actions. Orders from Cricket, when they enlist his help, are lower priority than orders from Haru, but higher priority than orders from herself (either directly or via calendar alert).

Once they're done, she flops on him.

Snuggle.

Nuzzle. "Thanks for the help. We got lots of good data."

"The negative orders and ones from people you - identify as being good targets of obedience or something? - will come in handy if you wind up in dungeons, though I might want to try some more testing to make sure that urgent screaming from a distressed victim doesn't override a command not to regard their instructions."

"That does seem like it warrants further testing, yeah." Nuzzles. "I think the thing is - trust? I trust you a lot."

"It's good you retain - memories of that? - that function at awakening levels."

She thinks about it, nuzzling him while she does.

"I don't think I ever lose access to memories, in either direction? When I'm more backlashed, I lose... agency, and the ability to notice things. But I can still remember everything."

"Yeah, maybe memories is the wrong word. Retain... inclinations."

"I dunno! I think it does run off my memories? Like, you are Marked As Trustworthy in my head, and I can remember that at any backlash level."

She kisses his forehead. "Either way, I'm glad."

"It's very very lucky that you bumped into me at Tim's."

"Sooooooooooo lucky! I'm the luckiest blue girl in town."

And perhaps also the wiggliest! Notice how she is wiggling herself against him right now.

She is free to do that because he has the self-control of a saint probably aaaaah. "Specifically blue girl? Restricted solely to Toronto? You can't have much competition in that reference class."

"There are more of us than you might think! I don't know of any others in Toronto" as of 3 months ago ", but they could be out there. There are tens, perhaps hundreds of us on this continent alone..."

"And you're the very luckiest one! As far as we know." Kiss.

kisskissssss. "I do feel extremely ridiculously lucky, yes."

"What time should we hit the road for karaoke?"
