"Huh!" She alternates saying both versions out loud. "I dunno! Mine makes more intuitive sense to me, but it's hard to explain why? ...Maybe I get the 'fuh' by borrowing a U from the first W. Because it's got 2 of them."

She's got the by-now very-recognizeable "Cara is being silly" grin plastered on her face.

"You're cute," he tells her, and kisses her.

Eeee kisses! For being silly, even!! Cara likes this a lot and will enthusiastically participate.

The rest of their Saturday is both uneventful and nice - Cara initiates makeouts a couple more times (definitely for medical purposes. everyone believes this.), they have lunch together, she starts reading Haru's blog and liveblogging it to him at a frequency she tries to adjust to hit the right vibes. They cuddle a lot. She kisses the back his neck again, because it's extremely gratifying making him melt. 

They go flying again at sunset. It's really nice. She kisses him in the air to help with the backlash. It's exhilarating. 

He's getting in so much flying practice and getting discernibly better at flying efficiently and precisely with every trip up in the air! She's very helpful.

And they can curl up together overnight too.

She's less exhausted at bedtime, which is nice - she doesn't need to be scolded towards washing up, she can make out with him a bit after to ease the backlash buildup from being apart while changing clothes, and she likes having gentle low-stakes conversations with people she's sharing a bed with as they're drifting off. 

"This is such a nice way to sleep... i really like being tucked into you like this, feeling your breath on me. It's so safe" she mumbles into his chest. "I slept better last night than I have in" 86 days "months, really."

"It's good that you like co-sleeping because it is very efficient," says Haru. "Evening dungeons and sleeping off the backlash since we've gotta sleep anyway." He kisses her on the top of her head.

This produces the (by-now-probably-expected) reaction of Cara wriggling against him.

Then she thinks a bit more about what he said, and pulls herself a bit closer to him. 

"It's - a really sudden and welcome change, honestly! 50 hours ago, it was one of my least convenient preferences."

She sighs in contentment. "So glad I get to be an esper."

"It's good when it happens to people who want it." Pet pet.

Happy wiggles. "I've wanted it so bad. Like - I wouldn't even let myself think about it, really, it was too distressing. And now -" she kisses his chest and squeezes him as tight as her still-awakening arms will let her.

"Now I get to have it."

"I keep making jokes about how there wasn't an essay contest I could enter."

Awww, that's adorable. He's great. She pets his head. "That's adorable. You're great."

Should she - yeah. She wants to tell him.

"...I didn't take it well. They put me on antidepressants for half a year when I was 15, and - it was for a lot of reasons (you've seen how my parents are about me), but a big one of them was... internalizing that I really could not expect or hope to be an esper, and needed to figure out how to have a life I could be happy with without that."

Snugglesnuggle. "I'm proud of the job I was doing at it, honestly, and it feels a bit weird to be setting all that aside, but - obviously it was the right thing to do then, and this is the right thing to do now."

He squeezes her. "I really hope you're happy with your powers."

Wriggling. "Me too! But - even if they're powers I rarely use, I will still be really really happy about this." Nuzzle. "And someone recently managed to convince me that there are well-compensated professional guide.opportunities for me out there."

"Someone was right."

She giggles. "I've noticed he often is!" She yawns. "It's very handyyyyyyyyy."

He kisses the top of her head again.

She sighs happily and kisses his chest.

"'s good. you're good. I really like youuu." 

She yawns again.

"I like you too. Good night, Cara."

eeeee! "Good niiiiight, Haru."

She falls asleep pretty quickly

And in the morning Haru makes scrambled eggs for breakfast. Gotta put vegetarian protein in the esper.

Food! She eats it happily, staying as snuggled close as she can. (Hot sauce, of course, goes with eggs.)

 "Do you want some introvert time? I should text Stella about tonight and maybe I'll watch another Gundam..."

"I could use it to fortify myself before karaoke, thanks."

She gives him a little salute, gets situated on the couch so he can have laptop time while she's on her phone, and texts Stella.
