Things that do not have room for Amshalan:
Doors.
Hallways.
Most ordinary rooms, at least with furniture in them.
The mirror-mouth of this snake monster that is eating her Chosen.
"I mean, we could bring him back to our Arda, but I'm not sure that's the best place, actually. We could do the compulsions again and then figure out a plan?"
"I think we should perhaps have a plan first in case Sauron who is a couple blocks from here reacts to having Maitimo stolen!"
"If he doesn't have the Ring I can block him indefinitely. If he does have the Ring we should leave immediately and kill everyone in Imladris we can't get out. - he will be able to see through Maedhros's senses, once Maedhros is here -"
"...I actually think our backup plan ought to be bringing him to our Velgarth, which does not contain any Saurons. Although I am hesitant to do the direct Gate with Sauron a quarter-mile away if we think he has the ring. All right. So: we bring him over, or attempt it, and Melody will immediately block all of his senses as thoroughly as possible. Then one of us - probably still Melody - can read his mind and confirm one way or another about the Ring. If he does have, it then I will Gate us somewhere instantly, along with as many others as we can fit through, and if he breaches your shields then - I suppose we can destroy Imladris. Vanyel would be better placed to do that part." Leareth glances at Elrond again. "Can you share memories of places you have been? I think I ought to be able to Gate from that."
"I have not been to Valinor. I can give you Mithlond but it won't be safe to stay there long either." He shares it anyway.
"I suppose we could do several steps. Hmm. Could you show me Valinor on a map? How far is it? I can Gate with just a bearing and a distance, although it will be rather approximate at ranges beyond a hundred miles."
"That's complicated because Eru moved it after the invasion - I can show it to you on a map but we don't know if the maps are accurate, anymore." He pulls a map out anyway. "Or Glorfindel can -"
Another Elf steps into the room, looks utterly baffled, sends Leareth some mental images of some stunningly beautiful valleys -
He examines the map. Memorizes the stunning valleys. "I give this greater than even odds of working, and if it does not on the first try, I would consider just evacuating to our Velgarth."
"Since Melody won't work instantly we should maybe all be under an illusion while she's doing the scramble."
"On it. We should hide everything else too, just in case Sauron doesn't have another way of telling where he is - maybe just drop him inside an opaque mage-barrier, actually..."
"Yeah, good idea, I don't have to see where I'm putting him if I can touchsight it. Everybody in range have private thoughts or shields or both - little Stef in particular might not have either -"
"Right. So we should be ready to move fast, if this goes, er, badly." Melody seems to brace herself a little. "I'm ready."
Little Stef is now shielded. He's also starting to look kind of droopy, though obviously trying to hide it.
Savil casts an opaque bubble, plenty big enough to hold a person. "It's shielded as well, in case he tries to, er, run at us, or has any magical weapons. I'm ready."
Belrun focuses on the scry. Pushes her touchsight as far as it will go. Leans on Leareth preemptively.
Fetches Maitimo under the barrier and sags, unable to keep her feet.
