"If you have a way of protecting people from retaliation, I should be able to talk some of them over," she says. Still staring at Luc', observing her.

"I can swing protective custody from most things..."

"If there's one thing all the Yozi have in common, it's a vengeful tendency. Plan for long-terms stays, or at least enough training they can protect themselves."

"Well, I'll kill anyone trying to get at them. See if that sends a message."

"Depends if you can get anyone important. Most of their worshippers are just... pawns."

"The living are generally better at answering questions, besides."

"Then I'll hunt my way up their stupid hierarchy or whatever."

"If anyone can do it, it'd be you."

Her grin is rather full of sharp teeth.

"The Yozis are slavers. It's worth some of my effort."

Luc' licks her lips and smiles at Wyld.

Quick kiss.

"Though I will be proportionate and legal in all my judgements, of course," she says.

"'Legal' and 'proportionate' definitely makes me think of you."

She pokes Luc' in the side. "Hush, you, I'm trying to look like a good leader here."

She sticks her tongue out at Wyld.

Kiss!

Kiss! With a sly wink for Jubilee.

"Where am I staying, by the way?" she asks once they break apart.

"C'mon, I'll get something set up for you..."

And: logistics with her new friend! (She squeezes Luc's hand and gives her another kiss before setting out, of course.)

With Jubilee now working directly with Wyld, things become more difficult for Luc'. Her only real saving grace is that most cultists in the area at this point have never seen her face-to-face or are loyal enough not to break. She quietly spends a lot of organizing who takes which falls, trying to stay one step ahead of the hunt.

Her cultists are feeling the pressure as well, which means they're asking for more endowments. She rations her essence usage carefully when Jubilee's around, but she still has more orders to throw around. This helps, somewhat.

Still, it's only a matter of time before she gets unlucky.

Wyld is relentless - which doesn't help. Her lieutenants have pressured her into actually fortifying her position this time, so while she's spending significant chunks of her day on training her army, she takes out her burning frustration with waiting on the cultist hunt.

And there's a picture, building itself in the back of her mind, where she doesn't want to look at it - 

It's only a matter of time, before she finds evidence she considers damning.

(Wyld can't breathe, her heart screaming in her chest, her vision going strange - )

She's a tiger stalking back and forth in their shared quarters, the next time Luc' appears, ears back, tail lashing.

"Wyld...?"

To human, and - 

"The Yozi cultists. What's your role with them."

"Why do you think I have a role with them?"

Her fingers twitch for her razor whip.

Deep breath.

And she recounts - all her evidence.

There's a lot.

Someone else would've considered it damning long ago.
