He seems amused. "Mostly dramatic sighing, with some effusive praise mixed in."

"Ling, you're gonna embarrass me," Wyld whines teasingly. "I don't dramatically sigh."

"I apologize, my lady. Perhaps 'lovesick draping of self over furniture' works better? 'Melodramatic mooning'?" He keeps a perfectly straight face.

She laughs.

"Melodramatic mooning seems very in character."

"Are you guys gonna team up against me now?"

"If it seems appropriate."

She sighs dramatically, leaning against Luc'. "The things I put up with..."

Shoulderbump. "It's for your own good, you know."

She smiles, kissing Luc' on the cheek. "I know. I'm lucky to have you looking after me."

Smile.

"I presume you have things to discuss with Wyld," she says to Lingering Orchid.

"Yes." He glances at Wyld.

"Also reading Luc' in. She's gonna help me."

"Very well."

He's business-like as he summarizes the campaigns since Wyld left to meet up with Luc' - only minor army deployments outside her existing territory. A road that'd cut between two arms of her claimed territory was the only major gain. They have, however, continued extending their information networks, both within and without the territory.

His report focuses on fortifications, movements of goods, and training - they haven't lost any of the crack troops, and while the regulars have suffered some losses those have been bolstered by the new recruitment programs. He's already identified six hundred loyal recruits with strong potential for her next wave of enhanced training, and there's a thousand others currently being trained, retrained, or folded in mundanely. Their regulars are up to a bit over four thousand strong, two thousand of those necessarily mobilized domestically, supplemented by five thousand local guards and by militias among the new settlements of freed slaves, estimated to be three thousand strong total... He wants to train up more guards and get the militias proper training, to free up more of their troops and reduce the appearance of military rule in the recently claimed cities and towns. (Wyld clears this.)

They're consolidating their claims on the two cities and thirty intact castles they've taken, too, with efforts to push outlaws and rebels out of around a dozen partially ruined but still useful fortifications underway; all castles are being manned by their loyal personnel, and the surrounding countrysides have accepted their oversight...

The nearby kingdoms have stopped trading with them, likely out of fear from their rapid expansion - a few months' pause might do them well, allow them to get their regulars up to a higher standard and their domestic situations handled, and make it seem like they've stopped claiming territory... Flood season is approaching, and he believes they're at minimal risk of retaliation during it...

He also reports on domestic matters some. Most towns have had crime spikes after the initial wave of soldiers left; they've been smoothing those out through an assortment of means... In breaking up criminal rings they've been discovering more signs of Yozi worship... A few of the noble houses they dispossessed have declared support of Wyld's movement, in his opinion in a clear bid for power, but they might be useful to help maintain order in some areas... The trial tax and legal reforms are going well, too, and seem to have improved Wyld's overall popularity...

Luc' stays largely quiet, though she asks a few cogent clarifying questions, mostly in relation to societal effects and new balances of power.

There's a really large extent to which they're currently a police state, but that's a pain in the butt to maintain with how many people she has so she's trying to reconstruct the governments (favorable to her, of course) as she goes. A portion of people taking new territory, a portion of people keeping order, a portion rebuilding civil structures. Lots of this she's predicted - she spent so much time following other Lunars who've tried similar things elsewhere around.

A month of consolidation isn't, actually, that much as far as overviews go - Ling has some documents for her to review on her own time, mostly their current logistical concerns, correspondence, and notes on in person meetings with assorted local and foreign powers. Still, the meeting runs into the afternoon and then early evening, at which point Wyld wraps it up.

To Luc', as Ling is gathering his things: "I think I'm free of my obligations for now. What would you like to do, darling?"

"Hmmm. There probably isn't much in the way of local attractions."

"We can hop over to a city or something pretty easily. This camp's pretty well positioned..."

"I would like to see what life in your regime is like."

"A tour it is. City's in tiger running distance, and I wouldn't mind stretching my legs - feel up to riding me?"

"Is that even a question?"

She laughs. "Maybe your legs are too sore from earlier," she teases.

"I think I'll be fine."

Quick kiss.
