"Huh.... I thought it would be weirder."
"The island doesn't have everything that is nice. And not all the not-nice things are that bad."
"Mhm! And did you see how high some of the buildings get? Imagine how far you could see from up there."
"But we can't go to the places you can see from the mountains," Mika tries to explain.
"They called it a magic school? And twin magic spreads? Damn. That sounds like it suggests the problem's a lot bigger than just a few kids... If they're all these four's age, we'll have a time crunch but it's probably doable..." He frowns, "Yeah, we really need to know what kind of resources they're working with."
"Yes, and since they are our age when we left Amenta., maybe our parents finding Milliways was involved? Though, I am pretty sure Remi would've told us about something this big if he knew."
"Yeah, sounds like actually talking to them is going to be the best way to figure this out."
"Okay." He pulls his pocket watch and turns into a kid.
He wanders towards the group of clean kids, pretending to be casual but trying to pay attention.
Sefoni is still working on the book.
"...White Cap... annnd... Yellow Mountain Flower. Whew!" She leans back from it and shakes her wrist out again, "I think that's everything," she tells the table.
Mika flips through the pages to double check, "Yeah, that's everything I'm pretty sure," he agrees. "Now we can see what potions we can make!"
Kenta steps in their social circle. "Potions? Do you guys go into a magic school or something?"
Surprised blink, then he grins, "Hi! The potions aren't part of it, but we do go to a magic school, yeah!"
"Well, it's a school for magic kids. Most of us don't have our own magic yet."
"Cause we're all gonna have magic. Or, the twins and triplets and stuff will," he offers Tepam a sheepish look, "But the others will still have crystal magic, at least, and Tep and Sefoni and Ita and I all have Nirn Magic." That's what Erandur had called his world.
"Lots of stuff. We have mana, and we can use it to cast spells like Flames and Oakskin and Summon Familiar and Healing Hands - or, our moms can," he motions between himself and Tepam, "We haven't learned that stuff yet. Tepam and I can do enchantments, though. Only glowing and warming and cooling stuff so far, but we'll be able to make our own someday, too!"
"And we have a bunch of magic plants from that world, now," she taps the book, "This book tells us how to make potions with them."
"And potions do a lot of what other kinds of magic does, except more portable."
