Now, the problem of Resurrection is, as the Third said, balancing the energy requirements. The initial surge needs to come from somewhere.

They can use the thanergy of the dying bush, obviously - potentially also Lab Three's theorems, feed off some of Gideon's thalergy...

They can run the numbers, but Ellyn's pretty sure Gideon will need to contribute. Water the bush with her blood.

Literally speaking? 

It is one of the more efficient ways to make the thalergy available.

Naturally. (She's more than willing.)

Before Canaan House, Ellyn would have needed to plan this more carefully, research approaches, practice theorems, refine her thinking. But she's grown a lot as necromancer from her studies and what the first Lyctors left behind. Even a partial Resurrection merits only a brief pause to collect her thoughts. Wards here, first theorem, knife, Gideon's blood, second theorem...

She helps where she can (and provides plenty of blood).

And the rosebush perks back up, green blossoming through the old leaves and deep, rich red suffusing the unwilting flower petals.

Another theorem, and half of it crumples back to dried black again, as Ellyn deftly weaves the resulting thanergy bloom into preserving the rest of the bush.

Watching her work is always wondrous, but this is... Beautiful, like a poem. 

Smug smug.

(She is going to collapse a little bit now, though. That was actually kind of hard and she's losing blood.)

Gideon will catch her.

Any objection to carrying her to their rooms? 

None whatsoever.

Then Gideon will sweep her up and carry her off, to better pamper her brilliant, beautiful, wonderful queen (with fruit juice and electrolytes, plus kissies). 

Exactly what she deserves.

She's very attractive when she's smug. 

Good thing she's the greatest necromancer of her generation and therefore has surfeit of reasons to be smug, then.

Not just of her generation, and don't forget that she's also the most beatiful, most intelligent, sexiest, and a very very very excellent girlfriend...

Hmm yes praise her more.

Perhaps she wants hymns murmured in her name - ?

That would be nice.
